This medication is used for anxiety. It is used to produce drowsiness and reduce anxiety prior to surgical or medical procedures. It may also be used in the treatment of seizure disorders, severe headache, alcohol withdrawal or to prevent nausea from cancer treatment.

Lorazepam is used to treat anxiety. OTHER USES: This drug may also be used for seizures, alcohol withdrawal, prevention of nausea and vomiting due to chemotherapy, tension headache, and for sleeping trouble (insomnia).
