Female, Age : 41-50 years old , Reason : severe depression ,Dysthymia since 14 years.
Side Effects : on doses above 150 mg no orgasm,constipation,pings in head, amplifies the effects of some other drugs like alcohol and testosterne implant, memory and concentration, terrible discontinuation withdrawal.
Review : At first it was a relief not to feel suicidal and feel in control again (I thought) but I feel now that it gave me a ridiculous sense of everything will be all right, a dont worry about anything attitude, things will take care of themselves. In the same way it numbed the pain it numbed my common sense and caring. I found it hard to work properly so I didnt and lived on my credit card which the sensible me would never have done. I was on 425 mg which seemed to magnify the effect of the testosterone implant I had to balence out my estrogen levels. I became very promoscuous, it was fun but deffinitely risk taking behavour.I also bacame very loud and agressive and then very depressed when drinking even moderate amounts of alcohol. I reduced the dose to 300 mg which helped most symptoms a little and then to 150mg I have been on it for nearly three years , I have trouble remembering fact from fantasy, what I was like before ,my memory is very confused I hate it and i am slowly reducing to get off of it. the withdrwel is awfulbut so is being on it. a lose lose situation.
