Benzoyl Peroxide Usage: Benzoyl peroxide is used to treat mild to moderate acne.
How to use Benzoyl Peroxide: this drug is for topical use on the affected area only. Avoid using this in eyes, mouth and nose, & on inflamed or damaged skin. the liquid wash or bar soap is used instead of soap once or twice a day. Wet skin before applying it. Gently work up lather and rinse thoroughly. don't scrub skin. Creams, lotions or gels are usually applied one time or 2 times day to affected area. a small amount is applied to affected region and rubbed in gently. Pads: Wash affected area of skin with mild cleanser & water then dry it. next apply pad, usually one time or twice day to skin as directed.
Benzoyl Peroxide side effects: Slight stinging, dryness and peeling may occur initially. Expect this. However, notify youre doctor if the following effects occur: redness, irritation, scaly eruptions, rash. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or healthcare professional.
Benzoyl Peroxide Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially: other skin problems, any allergies. this drug may bleach hair & colored clothing. Avoid contact. Safe use of benzoyl peroxide in children under 12 years old has not been established. Benzoyl peroxide should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. It's not known if this medication is excreted into breast milk. Though there have no reports (to date) about harm to nursing infants, consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
