Methyldopate HCL Usage: this drug is used for HBP (hypertension).
How to use Methyldopate HCL: Use this tablet exactly as prescribed. Try to use this at same times each day. It's important to continue using it medication even if you feel well. most people with high blood pressure don't feel sick. do not stop using this medication with-out consulting you're healthcare professional. few conditions may become worse when medication is abruptly stopped. your dose may need to be gradually decreased.
Methyldopate HCL side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, gas, dry mouth, fatigue, & stomach upset may occur. If any of these symptoms persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Inform some your physician if you develop: chest pain, depression, severe stomach cramps, unusual bleeding or bruising, yellowing of the skin or eyes, rash. at unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or doctor.
Methyldopate HCL Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially about: liver problems, any allergies. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Alcohol may increase drowsy/dizzy effects of this drug. Limit alcohol intake. Before using it drug, tell your healthcare professional if you pregnant. Methyldopa is excreted into breast milk. Though there have been no reports (to date) of harm to nursing infants, consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Methyldopate HCL pill interactions: Inform your doctor about every drugs you may use (both prescription and nonprescription), especially about: lithium, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline), levodopa, antidepressants, iron supplements, other blood pressure drugs. Avoid any drugs that increase your heart rate (decongestants phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine and phenylpropanolamine are examples). These pills commonly found in cough-and-cold products. Consult your pharmacist or pharmacist before using cough-and-cold products. Caffeine may also increase some your blood pressure. Caffeine can be found in few nonprescription diet medications, in colas, coffee & tea. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Methyldopate HCL Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, weakness, slow heart rate, dizziness, diarrhea, nausea, and vomiting.
Methyldopate HCL special notes: this is important to have youre blood pressure checked regularly while taking it drug. Learn how to monitor your blood pressure. Discuss this with your pharmacist.
If you missed Methyldopate HCL dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take if It's almost clock for the following dose. Instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Methyldopate HCL Storage: Store at room temperature away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom.
