Decongestant/narcotic antitussive/antihistamine - oral
Coughtuss Usage: Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. the low-dose narcotic antitussive helps control a cough. antihistamine is for relief from sneezing, runny nose, water eyes. this combination product is used to treat symptoms associated with common colds, allergies, hay fever and other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Coughtuss: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this medication is best taken with a full glass of water after a meal or snack.
Coughtuss side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss about appetite, nausea, stomach upset or dry mouth may occur the first some days as your body adjusts to the medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake about alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, a rapid pulse, skin rash, high blood pressure, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your physician or pharmacist.
Coughtuss Precautions: Tell you're physician if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, high blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, a history of drug dependency, any allergies. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if it medication causes you to feel drowsy. USD it product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you uncertain it product has PPA. this pill should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with some your pharmacist. since small amounts about this medication are found in breast milk, consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Coughtuss drug interactions: Tell your physician about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine, narcotic pain drug (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake about alcoholic beverages while taking this med. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Coughtuss Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, headache, dizziness, weakness, profuse sweating, slow or fast heartbeat, slow or shallow breathing, hyperactivity, fever, seizures, or unconsciousness.
Coughtuss special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. this will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Coughtuss dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take this if Its near the time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Coughtuss Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. don't store in the bathroom.
