Benzonatate Usage: it med dulls the cough reflex. this is used to relieve cough due to colds or allergies. this is effects last for up to eight hours.

How to use Benzonatate: this drug must be swallowed whole. do not break or chew the capsules or allow them to dissolve in youre mouth since the medication can numb the mouth & throat. this is recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses day) to help relieve cold symptoms.

Benzonatate side effects: Stomach upset, nausea, constipation, drowsiness, mild dizziness, nasal congestion or headache may occur the 1st some days as your body adjusts to drug. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: skin rash, numbness of chest, tremors. Because it med may cause drowsiness or dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're pharmacist or healthcare professional.

Benzonatate Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have any allergies or illness. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. since It's not known if this medication is found in breast milk; consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Benzonatate medication interactions: Tell your pharmacist of any over-the-counter or prescription pill you may take. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or healthcare professional approval.

Benzonatate Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include restlessness, tremors, & seizures.

If you missed Benzonatate dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take if it is almost time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Benzonatate Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. don't refrigerate.
