Guaifenesin/antitussive/decongestant/antihistamine - oral
Neotuss D Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Antitussives cough suppressants used to relieve a dry, hacking cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. Antihistamines relieve runny nose, sneezing, itchy nose & throat & itchy, watery eyes. it combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & another respiratory illnesses.
How to use Neotuss D: Take this medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. don't increase your dose or take this more often than directed. this med is best taken with a full glass about water after a meal or snack.
Neotuss D side effects: Dizziness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea or dry mouth may occur first some days as you're body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're pharmacist. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, HBP, difficulty urinating, tremors, nervousness, hallucinations. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.
Neotuss D Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, depression, allergies (especially drug allergies). cash it product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). the FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your physician promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. it medication must be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your physician. since small amounts of it med are found in breast milk, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Neotuss D drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription drug you use, including: blood pressure drugs, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), narcotic pain medication (e.g., codeine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking it pill. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Neotuss D Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include abnormal eye movements, flushed face, dry mouth, change in amount about urine, fever, excitation, agitation, bizarre behavior, confusion, restlessness, irritability, delirium, twitching, abnormal tongue or eye movement, slurred speech, nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, slow or shallow breathing, change in amount about urine, unconsciousness, hallucination, sleeplessness, itching, or seizures.
Neotuss D special notes: Drink plenty about fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus and clear congestion.
If you missed Neotuss D dose: If you miss a dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Neotuss D Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in bathroom.
