Decongestant with narcotic antitussive - oral

Phenylephrine HD Usage: this drug has decongestant which relieves nasal stuffiness & narcotic antitussive used to suppress a cough. it combination med is used to treat symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.

How to use Phenylephrine HD: Take it medication as prescribed. Be sure to follow instructions closely. do not increase your dose or take it more many times than directed. this medication is best taken with full glass of water after a meal or snack.

Phenylephrine HD side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, constipation, nausea or stomach upset may occur 1st few days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify youre pharmacist if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, tremors, nervousness, mental confusion, breathing trouble. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this med causes you to feel drowsy. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre physician or pharmacist.

Phenylephrine HD Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease (e.g., asthma, emphysema), HBP, an overactive thyroid, diabetes, blood pressure, an overactive thyroid, depression, a history of medication dependency, allergies (especially drug allergies). it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare professional. for small amounts about it tablet found in breast milk, consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

Phenylephrine HD medication interactions: Tell youre physician of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: drug since blood pressure, antidepressants, sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping pills, cimetidine. Limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. don't start or stop any medicine with out pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

Phenylephrine HD Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, headache, numbness & tingling of hands and feet, irregular heartbeat, weakness, drowsiness, slow or shallow breathing, or unconsciousness.

Phenylephrine HD special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this medication. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.

If you missed Phenylephrine HD dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if It's near the time since the next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Phenylephrine HD Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. do not store in the bathroom.
