Antifungals - vaginal

Nystatin Usage: this medication is used to treat vaginal fungal infections.

How to use Nystatin: Follow instructions provided with medication. Fill the applicator that comes with cream to the level indicated or unwrap pill or suppository, wet it with lukewarm water & place it on the applicator as shown in the printed instructions. Insert the applicator as directed & push plunger to release the medication. If applicator is reusable, pull it apart and clean it with soap & warm water after each use. Use sanitary napkin to prevent clothing stains. do not use a tampon since this will absorb the tablet. don't douche without consulting youre doctor. Continue to use drug as prescribed since the full time prescribed. If you get some your menstrual period, continue treatment.

Nystatin side effects: this med may cause burning, stinging or itching about skin or vagina. If these symptoms persist or get worse, contact you're doctor. If your experience any of following effects, stop using this pill & contact you're doctor: stomach cramps, skin rash, hives, headache. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

Nystatin Precautions: Tell some your doctor if you are using diaphragm as birth control. few suppositories can interact with latex in diaphragms. it med must be used cautiously during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Its not known if this drug appears at breast milk. Consult with your doctor before breast-feeding.

Nystatin tablet interactions: Be sure youre doctor knows what medicines you use (both prescription and nonprescription) & if you have any allergies. do not start or stop any medicine with out physician or healthcare professional approval.

Nystatin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.

Nystatin special notes: this drug is prescribed for your current condition only. do not use it for another infection or share it with someone else. another infection later on may require different drug.

If you missed Nystatin dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if It's almost time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Nystatin Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight.
