    Docusate - oral

    Simular Drugs : Dok, Dok PLUS

    Dok Usage: it medication helps fluids to mix with stool to keep them from becoming hard or dry. it is used to treat constipation.

    How to use Dok: Swallow capsules & tablets whole with a full glass about water or juice. the liquid and syrup forms must be given in six to 8 ounces about milk or juice to prevent throat irritation. Relief is usually obtained in 1 to 3 days after 1st dose.

    Dok side effects: this tablet can cause stomach ache, cramping or irritated throat (liquid & syrup forms). If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Notify your healthcare professional if you experience: skin rash, rectal bleeding, lack of bowel movements. Frequent use of laxatives can cause dehydration & loss about essential nutrients. Symptoms include muscle cramps, muscle weakness or dizziness. Maintain an adequate fluid intake while using this medication. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.

    Dok Precautions: don't take aspirin (unless prescribed by your doctor) or mineral oil while taking stool softeners. If you pregnant or breast-feeding, do not take over-the-counter stool softeners (or any other nonprescription medication) without obtaining you're doctor's advice.

    Dok medication interactions: this drug is not recommended for use with mineral oil. Ask your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Tell your pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription medication you may use, especially aspirin.

    Dok Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

    Dok special notes: Laxatives should only be used temporarily until normal bowel habits return. Prolonged use can lead to laxative dependence. To prevent constipation: drink 4 to 6 glasses of water per day, include bulk or roughage in your diet, & exercise regularly.

    If you missed Dok dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost clock for following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Dok Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight & moisture.
