Panic attacks may occur at any time. This may happen with a lot of medical issues but with panic attacks, they can occur anytime, day or night. This can be very concerning since they can even occur while you are driving.
If you are not sure what a panic attack is, it is a problem than a lot of people have that brings on an acute attack of feeling very fearful, anxious and dreadful. It tends to coincide with depression and other anxiety issues but anyone can get a panic attack. It is true that many adults in America have at least one in their lives. Some think that the statistic is as much as 1 out of 75 adults in America. That is a staggering number.
What usually precedes a panic attack is a very stressful event, or series of events. Having stressful events occur over and over every day in time can cause physical, as well as mental issues. These events build up and build up until we blow up. It is similar to a soda can being shook up a little bit at a time until it is opened and explodes. We tend to explode and have panic attacks.
At times driving can be extremely stressful and when a person has to drive in stressful traffic everyday the intensity builds up until they just can’t cope with it any longer. By the time most people get on the road they already went through tremendous amounts of stress and the traffic just build on top of that stress.
Many people have different things that they are afraid of and when put into those situations they can experience a panic attack. If not being able to handle closed in spaces is one of your fears then this can add to frustration while you are driving on the road in traffic.
If you have a panic attack while you are driving it should be taken as serious. If you suffer from panic attacks while you drive then you would be experience the same thing you would as if you were having a heart attack. You won’t be able to drive correctly or concentrate on the road. You could potentially get into an accident and could hurt someone else in an accident.
If you are concerned that this could happen to you then see your doctor. If you know that you get panic attacks then talk to a psychologist and they will give you a treatment plan. This will hopefully prevent an accident if you end up having a panic attack while driving. Just be safe and be prepared.
