Corticosteroids - topical
Beta Val Usage: this med is used to treat swelling, inflammation, or itching of skin conditions such as eczema, dermatitis, rashes, insect bites, poison ivy, allergies and other irritations.
How to use Beta Val: Clean & dry affected area before applying the drug. To apply, gently massage a small amount of drug into affected area and surrounding skin. do not bandage, wrap or cover the region treated unless you are instructed to do so by your physician. do not use plastic pants or tight fitting diapers on kid being treated with this medication in diaper region. Avoid using this medication around eyes unless directed to do so by your doctor.
Beta Val side effects: this drug may cause burning, stinging, itching, or redness when 1'st applied to the skin. this must disappear in a few days as youre body adjusts to medication. this drug may also cause skin thinning & discoloration. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform some your healthcare professional. Skin infections can become worse when using this medication. Notify your doctor if redness, swelling or irritation does not improve. Very unlikely to occur but report promptly following side effects: unusual weakness, weight loss, nausea/vomiting, fainting, dizziness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Beta Val Precautions: don't use this tablet near the eyes if you have glaucoma. Treatment with clobetasol, halobetasol propionate & augmented betamethasone dipropionate beyond two weeks consecutively isnt recommended. don't use if there is an infection or sores present on the area to be treated. Though very unlikely, this is possible this medication will be absorbed into you're bloodstream. it may have undesirable consequences that may require additional corticosteroid treatment. this is especially true for children & for those who have used this for an extended period if they also have serious medical problems such as serious infections, injuries or surgeries. this precaution applies for up to one year after stopping use of this med. Consult youre physician or pharmacist for more details. it medication should be used cautiously during pregnancy and only if clearly needed. Discuss the benefits and risks with youre physician. Small amounts of this tablet may appear in breast milk. Consult with youre doctor before breast-feeding.
Beta Val medication interactions: Tell your doctor of all drugs you may use, (both prescription and nonprescription), especially of: prednisone (or similar drugs), other skin medicines. don't start or stop any medicine with-out physician or healthcare professional approval.
Beta Val Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Beta Val special notes: Inform all youre physicians you use (or have used) it drug. do not share it medication with others.
If you missed Beta Val dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; don't use if Its almost time since the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Beta Val Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight. Avoid freezing.
