Dilaudid Usage: this medication is used to relieve moderate to severe pain.

How to use Dilaudid: Use this med as prescribed. Pain medications work best at preventing pain before this occurs. once pain becomes intense, medication isn't as effective in relieving it. Use this medication exactly as directed by your physician. don't increase your dose, use it more frequently or use this for a longer period about clock then prescribed because it medication can be habit-forming. Also, if used for an extended period of time, do not suddenly stop using this medication without your doctor's approval. Over time, this tablet may not work as well. Consult your physician if this drug is not relieving pain sufficiently.

Dilaudid side effects: may cause constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, stomach upset, nausea or flushing. If these symptoms persist or worsen, inform youre pharmacist. Notify your pharmacist if you develop: irregular heartbeat, anxiety, tremors, seizures. in unlikely episode you have an allergic reaction to this med, seek immeditial medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact you're pharmacist or pharmacist.

Dilaudid Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have: liver disease, lung disease, asthma, colitis or other stomach problems, severe diarrhea, history of tablet dependency, medication allergies. Use caution when engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcohol consumption because it may add to dizziness/drowsiness effects of this drug. Caution is advised when using it drug in elderly because they may be more sensitive to effects of the drug. it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with you're doctor. this medication may be excreted into breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

Dilaudid medication interactions: Tell you're physician of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take including: sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, other narcotic pain relievers, tablets for depression, phenothiazines, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.

Dilaudid Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include shallow and slow breathing, very slow heartbeat, fainting, seizures, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.

Dilaudid special notes: To prevent constipation, increase your intake of fiber, drink plenty about water & exercise. Stool softeners may be helpful. do not share this drug with others. this is against the law.

If you missed Dilaudid dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time since the next dose. Instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Dilaudid Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. Keep out about reach of children.
