Dilaudid Usage: this medication is used to relieve moderate to severe pain.

How to use Dilaudid: To prevent upset stomach, take with food or milk. Pain drugs work best in preventing pain before it occurs. once the pain becomes intense, the med isn't as effective in relieving it. Take it as prescribed. do not increase your dose, take it more frequently or use it since a longer period about clock without some your doctor's approval. Also, if used for a long period of clock at high doses, don't suddenly stop taking this without first consulting your doctor. When used for extended periods, this medication may not work as well and may require different dosing. Consult some your healthcare professional if the drug isn't relieving pain sufficiently.

Dilaudid side effects: can cause constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, stomach upset, nausea, & flushing 1st few days as youre body adjusts to the tablet. If these symptoms persist or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To minimize constipation, increase your intake of fiber, drink plenty about water, & exercise. Stool softeners may be helpful. Ask your physician or pharmacist about stool softeners and laxatives. Notify your doctor if you develop: irregular heartbeat, anxiety, tremors, seizures. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this med, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your pharmacist or physician.

Dilaudid Precautions: Tell youre pharmacist if you allergic to any other narcotic pain medicine or have had substance abuse problems. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. Alcoholic beverages or other sedatives may add to the effects of it medication causing dizziness or drowsiness. Ask you're pharmacist or physician about the use of alcohol. Caution is advised when using this tablet in elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of drug. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with you're healthcare professional. this drug is excreted into breast milk & may affect infant. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Dilaudid pill interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of every prescription & nonprescription drugs you may be using especially: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), psychiatric drugs, tranquilizers, sleep medications, zidovudine, rifampin, other narcotic pain relievers, barbiturates, cimetidine, anti-seizure drugs, antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine), alcohol. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or physician approval.

Dilaudid Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include slow or shallow breathing, slow heart rate, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.

Dilaudid special notes: don't share this medication with others. It's against law.

If you missed Dilaudid dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost clock for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Dilaudid Storage: Store at room temperature away from light & moisture. do not store in the bathroom.
