Morphine Sulfate Usage: this medication is used to relieve moderate to severe pain.
How to use Morphine Sulfate: Use this med as prescribed. Pain drugs work best in preventing pain before this occurs. 1 time the pain becomes intense, med isn't as effective in relieving this. Use this medication exactly as directed by your doctor. don't increase your dose, use it more frequently or use this for longer period of time than prescribed because this drug can be habit-forming. Also, if used since an extended period of time, don't suddenly stop using this pill without you're doctor's approval. Over clock, this drug may not work as well. Consult your doctor if this medication isnot relieving pain sufficiently.
Morphine Sulfate side effects: can cause constipation, lightheadedness, dizziness, drowsiness, stomach upset, nausea or flushing. If these symptoms persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your physician if you develop: irregular heartbeat, anxiety, tremors, seizures. in the unlikely series you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Morphine Sulfate Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: liver disease, lung disease, asthma, colitis or other stomach problems, severe diarrhea, history of med dependency, drug allergies. Use caution when engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcohol consumption because it may add to the dizziness/drowsiness effects of this drug. Caution is advised when using this med in elderly because they may be more sensitive to effects of the med. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with you're pharmacist. this med may be excreted into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Morphine Sulfate drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: sedatives, tranquilizers, sleeping tablets, other narcotic pain relievers, pills for depression, phenothiazines, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), cimetidine. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Morphine Sulfate Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include shallow and slow breathing, very slow heartbeat, fainting, seizures, small pupils, severe drowsiness, or unconsciousness.
Morphine Sulfate special notes: To prevent constipation, increase youre intake of fiber, drink plenty of water & exercise. Stool softeners may be helpful. do not share it pill with others. it is against law.
If you missed Morphine Sulfate dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if It's almost time for the following dose. Instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Morphine Sulfate Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 and 30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. Keep out of reach of children.
