    Aspirin with meprobamate - oral

    (asp-er-in with meh-pro-buh-mate)

    common brand names: Equagesic, Micrainin

    Warning: children & teenagers shouldn't use aspirin, aspirin- containing or aspirin-related drugs for flu symptoms or chickenpox without 1st consulting a doctor. a rare but serious illness known as Reye's syndrome may occur.

    Equagesic Usage: it medication is skeletal muscle relaxant in combination with aspirin, used to relieve pain & discomfort associated with musculoskeletal injuries and conditions.

    How to use Equagesic: Take this with food or milk if stomach upset occurs. Take this med with a full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water unless your pharmacist directs you otherwise. do not lie down for at least 30 minutes after taking it tablet. Use this medication exactly as prescribed. do not increase your dose, use it more frequently or use this for a longer period about time with-out your doctor's approval. Also, if used for long period about time at high doses, do not suddenly stop using this without first consulting your doctor. When used for extended periods, it medication may not work as well & may require different dosing. Consult your doctor if the medication is not relieving the pain sufficiently.

    Equagesic side effects: Stomach upset, headache, blurred vision, drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, difficult urination may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your healthcare professional promptly if you develop: a rapid heart rate, fainting, black stools, hearing loss, simple bruising, dark urine, yellowing eyes, mental confusion, hallucinations. in the unlikely episode you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.

    Equagesic Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: kidney disease, liver disease, seizures, prostate or bladder problems, myasthenia gravis, ulcers or intestinal problems, asthma, nasal polyps, bleeding disorders, glaucoma, allergies (especially allergies to aspirin). Because this med contains aspirin, kid and teenagers shouldnot take this tablet if they have chickenpox, influenza or undiagnosed illness without 1'st consulting a doctor about Reye's syndrome, a rare but serious illness. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this drug causes you to feel drowsy. Limit alcohol intake. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. it medicine can cause stomach bleeding. daily use of alcohol, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase your risk for stomach bleeding. check with your physician or doctor for more info. this med isnt recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult you're doctor before using this med. it drug is excreted into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.

    Equagesic drug interactions: Tell your physician of all over-the-counter & prescription drug you may use, including: medication for depression or seizures, narcotic pain relievers, sleeping tablets or sedatives, 'blood thinners' (anticoagulants such as warfarin, heparins, NSAIDs), corticosteroids, methotrexate. Aspirin is an ingredient in much of over-the-counter products. To prevent an overdose of aspirin, read the labels carefully before taking other pain relievers or cold goods to be sure they do not contain aspirin. Consult your healthcare professional if you uncertain your over-the-counter products contain aspirin. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or physician approval.

    Equagesic Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include drowsiness, sluggishness, loss about muscle coordination, vomiting, stomach pain, rapid breathing, ringing in ears, & sweating.

    Equagesic special notes: it medication is used at addition to rest, physical therapy or other measures prescribed to relieve your condition. since this medication may make you temporarily feel better, do not try to speed your recovery by exercising or lifting too soon. it can cause further muscle damage. Follow your pharmacists orders.

    If you missed Equagesic dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Equagesic Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in bathroom.
