Phenylephrine Hcl Guaifenesin Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant used to help clear mucous & congestion. Phenylephrine is a decongestant which helps relieve nasal congestion. this combination medication is used to treat symptoms associated with cold, allergies or respiratory tract illness.
How to use Phenylephrine Hcl Guaifenesin: Take this medication by mouth. pills should be swallowed whole. do not crush or chew them. If stomach upset occurs, this may be taken with food or milk. Take this medication as directed. do not increase the dose or take this more often or longer than prescribed. it is recommended to drink plenty of fluids (6-8 glasses day) to help relieve congestion.
Phenylephrine Hcl Guaifenesin side effects: Nausea, stomach upset, loss of appetite, nervousness, dizziness, or headache may occur the first some days as your body adjusts to the medication. If these effects continue or become bothersome, inform you're physician. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid heart rate, anxiety, fear, difficult or painful urination, difficulty sleeping. Because this drug may cause dizziness, use caution performing tasks requiring alertness & avoid consuming alcohol which can aggravate this effect. Phenylephrine Hcl Guaifenesin Precautions: Tell youre doctor if you have: pre-existing heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, emphysema, high blood pressure, overactive thyroid, diabetes mellitus, glaucoma, difficulty urinating, an enlarged prostate, history about seizures. this pill should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risk and benefits with your physician. this isnt known if this medication appears in breast milk; consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Phenylephrine Hcl Guaifenesin drug interactions: Tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription drug you may take including: sleeping pills, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, medication for depression, medication for HBP. Tell your doctor if you have, in the last two weeks, taken any MAO inhibitors: furazolidone, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine, linezolid. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Phenylephrine Hcl Guaifenesin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include headache, dizziness, blurred vision, unusually quick or slow heartbeat, numbness of fingers, vomiting, drowsiness, fatigue, or seizures.

If you missed Phenylephrine Hcl Guaifenesin dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost time since next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
