Dilatrate Sr Usage: this medication relaxes blood vessels allowing more blood to flow through. it improves blood flow to heart. Oral dose forms used to prevent angina (chest pain). this tablet isn't for treating an attack about chest pain that is already happening.

How to use Dilatrate Sr: this medication is best taken on an empty stomach with a full glass of water. Take exactly as prescribed. To be effective in preventing chest pain, you must continue taking it tablet even if you feel well. Sustained-release or long acting tablets and capsules must be swallowed whole. Crushing or chewing them destroys the long action and may increase side effects. do not stop taking this med suddenly with out consulting your healthcare professional. some conditions may become worse when the drug is suddenly stopped. your dose may need to be gradually decreased. Notify your doctor if med does not appear to be as effective. do not increase your dose or take it more often than prescribed with-out consulting your pharmacist.

Dilatrate Sr side effects: Headache, dizziness, flushing, rapid heartbeat or restlessness may occur as youre body adjusts to drug. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To prevent dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Notify your doctor if you experience: blurred vision, dry mouth, skin rash, nausea. Headache is often sign medication is working. Treat headaches with an aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever as recommended by you're pharmacist. If the headaches continue or become severe, notify you're healthcare professional. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical attention immediately. Dilatrate Sr Precautions: Before using this medication tell your healthcare professional your medical history especially about: heart problems, head injury or surgery, glaucoma, thyroid conditions, anemia, alcohol usage, drug allergies. Dilatrate Sr drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every medications you may use including prescription and nonprescription meds, especially of: drugs for high blood pressure, certain migraine medications (ergot alkaloids), sildenafil, high doses of aspirin. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Dilatrate Sr Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, dizziness, fainting, unconsciousness, slow or rapid heartbeat, confusion, fever, or persistent throbbing headache.

Dilatrate Sr special notes: some persons may develop a tolerance to the effects about this medication over time. Notify your doctor if medication appears to be losing Its effectiveness or if the chest pain continues while taking it drug.

If you missed Dilatrate Sr dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

Dilatrate Sr Storage: Store this medication away from heat or flame. Always keep this drug at Its original container. Keep container closed tightly to avoid moisture.
