Monoket Usage: this medication helps to widen blood vessels so blood flows better. it is used to prevent chest pain (angina).
How to use Monoket: Take it medication exactly as prescribed. Try to take it in the same times each day so you remember to take this. morning dose (or 1st dose) and the afternoon dose (or second dose) must be taken 7 hours apart. do not stop taking it medication with-out consulting you're physician. some conditions may become worse when drug is abruptly stopped. your dose may need to be gradually decreased. this is important to continue taking this drug routinely to prevent episodes of chest pain. this is not helpful in relieving chest pain one time it occurs.
Monoket side effects: Headache, dizziness, flushing, rapid heartbeat or restlessness may occur as some your body adjusts to drug. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. To prevent dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Notify your pharmacist if you experience: blurred vision, dry mouth, skin rash, nausea. Headache is often a sign the medication is working. Treat headaches with an aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever as recommended by your healthcare professional. If the headaches continue or become severe, notify your pharmacist. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Monoket Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have ever had: angle-closure glaucoma, blood disorders, LBP, recent head injury, recent heart attack, any allergies (especially to nitrates). Caution is advised when using it drug in elderly because they may be more sensitive to effects about the medication, especially blood pressure lowering effects. this drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with your doctor. since small amounts of this medication found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit you're intake of alcoholic beverages & avoid overheating which will aggravate these effects.
Monoket drug interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription med you may take especially: any drug for blood pressure, certain pills for migraines (ergot alkaloids), sildenafil, high doses of aspirin. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.
Monoket Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include throbbing headache, confusion, dizziness, perspiring skin, nausea, vomiting, difficulty breathing, slow pulse, and loss of consciousness.
Monoket special notes: few persons may develop a tolerance to effects of this pill over time. Notify your physician if drug appears to be losing it is effectiveness or if the chest pain continues while taking this drug.
If you missed Monoket dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time since next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Monoket Storage: Store medication in cool dry place between 36 & 86 degrees F (2 to 30 degrees C) in a tight container. do not store in bathroom.
Medical alert: you're condition may cause complications at a medical emergency.
