Nitrolingual Usage: Nitroglycerin relaxes blood vessels allowing more blood to flow through. it reduces the workload on the heart & improves blood flow to the heart. Lingual nitroglycerin acts quickly to relieve chest pain (angina).
How to use Nitrolingual: in the first sign of chest pain, sit down and spray one or two metered doses on or under tongue. Close mouth immediately after each dose. drug is absorbed directly through lining of the mouth. Spray should not be inhaled & swallowing should be avoided. do not eat, drink or smoke while spray is at your mouth. Effects should begin within 1 to 3 minutes. If after three minutes, there is no relief of chest pain, use another metered dose. If there is no relief after 3 applications, call some your healthcare professional immediately or go to hospital emergency room. Nitroglycerin spray may be used 5 to 10 minutes before engaging at activities that may cause an attack. don't shake container. Carry this medication with you at all times.
Nitrolingual side effects: Headache, dizziness, flushing, rapid heartbeat or restlessness may occur as youre body adjusts to the medication. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your healthcare professional. To prevent dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Notify you're healthcare professional if you experience: blurred vision, dry mouth, skin rash, nausea. Headache is often sign medication is working. Treat headaches with an aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever as recommended by your doctor. If headaches continue or become severe, notify your doctor. in unlikely series you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Nitrolingual Precautions: Before using it med tell youre doctor you're medical history especially of: heart problems, head injury or surgery, glaucoma, thyroid conditions, anemia, alcohol usage, medication allergies. Use caution engaging in activities that require alertness or in operating machinery if it medication makes you dizzy or drowsy. Alcoholic beverages may increase risk of fainting or about experiencing dizziness. this drug should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. it isn't known if it medication is excreted in to breast milk. Consult youre healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Nitrolingual drug interactions: Tell your pharmacist of every meds you may use including prescription & nonprescription drugs, especially of: HBP drugs, certain migraine tablets (ergot alkaloids), sildenafil, high doses of aspirin. do not start or stop any medicine with-out physician or pharmacist approval.
Nitrolingual Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include persistent, throbbing headache; dizziness; confusion; weakness; sweating; changes in heart rate; changes at vision; flushing; nausea; & vomiting.
Nitrolingual special notes: some persons may develop tolerance to effects of it medication over time. Notify your pharmacist if pill appears to be losing Its effectiveness or if chest pain continues while taking this medication.
If you missed Nitrolingual dose: this medication is used only at onset of an attack about chest pain or 10 to 15 minutes before engaging in an activity that can cause chest pain. this med isn't for routine use.
Nitrolingual Storage: Store at room temperature away from heat and direct sunlight. do not puncture container.
Medical alert: your condition can cause complications at a medical emergency.
