Nitrol Usage: Nitroglycerin relaxes blood vessels allowing more blood to flow through and improving blood flow to the heart. Topical nitroglycerin is used to prevent angina (chest pain). this medication isn't since treating an attack of chest pain that has already started.
How to use Nitrol: the ointment is for topical use and comes with applicators to allow for measuring each dose. Spread prescribed amount in thin, even layer on the chest, arm or thigh. don't rub the ointment at to skin. Apply covering over the ointment only if directed to do so by you're healthcare professional. Use rubber gloves or wash hands immediately after applying as the drug is readily absorbed through skin. Nitrol side effects: Headache, dizziness, flushing, rapid heartbeat or restlessness may occur as your body adjusts to med. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your doctor. Headache is often sign the medication is working. Treat headaches with an aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever as recommended by some your pharmacist. If the headaches continue or become severe, notify your doctor. To prevent dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Notify your pharmacist if you experience: blurred vision, dry mouth, skin rash, nausea. in unlikely part you have an allergic reaction to this med, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or physician.
Nitrol Precautions: Before using it drug tell your physician youre medical history especially about: heart problems, head injury or surgery, glaucoma, thyroid conditions, anemia, alcohol usage, drug allergies. Use caution engaging in activities that require alertness or in operating machinery if this medication makes you dizzy or drowsy. Alcoholic beverages may increase risk of fainting or about experiencing dizziness. this medication should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your physician. It's not known if this drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Nitrol med interactions: Tell your doctor of every medications you may use including prescription & nonprescription drugs, especially of: tablets for HBP, certain migraine meds (ergot alkaloids), sildenafil, high doses of aspirin. do not start or stop any medicine with-out healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Nitrol Overdose: If overdose is suspected, wipe off this medicine. Contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include a persistent, throbbing headache; dizziness; confusion; weakness; sweating; changes in heart rate; changes in vision; flushing; nausea; and vomiting.
Nitrol special notes: few persons may develop a tolerance to the effects of it medication over time. Notify you're healthcare professional if medication appears to be losing Its effectiveness or if the chest pain continues while taking it drug.
If you missed Nitrol dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use if it is almost time for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Nitrol Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight. Avoid freezing.
