Isosorbide Mononitrate Usage: this tablet helps to widen blood vessels so blood flows better. It's used to prevent chest pain (angina).
How to use Isosorbide Mononitrate: Take this drug exactly as prescribed. Try to take this at same time each day so you remember to take it. Swallow this medication whole. do not stop taking this med without consulting your pharmacist. some conditions may become worse when med is abruptly stopped. your dose may need to be gradually decreased. It's important to continue taking this medication routinely to prevent episodes about chest pain. this isn't helpful in relieving chest pain once this occurs.
Isosorbide Mononitrate side effects: Headache, dizziness, flushing, rapid heartbeat or restlessness may occur as you're body adjusts to tablet. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. To prevent dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Notify youre healthcare professional if you develop: blurry vision, dry mouth, skin, rash, nausea. Headache is often a sign pill is working.
