    Isosorbide Mononitrate Usage: this tablet helps to widen blood vessels so blood flows better. It's used to prevent chest pain (angina).

    How to use Isosorbide Mononitrate: Take this drug exactly as prescribed. Try to take this at same time each day so you remember to take it. Swallow this medication whole. do not stop taking this med without consulting your pharmacist. some conditions may become worse when med is abruptly stopped. your dose may need to be gradually decreased. It's important to continue taking this medication routinely to prevent episodes about chest pain. this isn't helpful in relieving chest pain once this occurs.

    Isosorbide Mononitrate side effects: Headache, dizziness, flushing, rapid heartbeat or restlessness may occur as you're body adjusts to tablet. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. To prevent dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Notify youre healthcare professional if you develop: blurry vision, dry mouth, skin, rash, nausea. Headache is often a sign pill is working. Treat headaches with an aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever as recommended by youre healthcare professional. If headaches continue or become severe, notify youre physician. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.

    Isosorbide Mononitrate Precautions: Tell your pharmacist if you have ever had: angle-closure glaucoma, blood disorders, LBP, recent head injury, recent heart attack, allergies (especially to nitrates). Caution is advised when using this pill in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the drug, especially blood pressure lowering effects. this med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. it is not known if this medication is found in breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit youre intake of alcoholic beverages and avoid overheating which will aggravate these effects.

    Isosorbide Mononitrate med interactions: Tell your physician of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use, especially about: blood pressure drugs, certain drugs since migraines (ergot alkaloids), sildenafil, high doses of aspirin. do not start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Isosorbide Mononitrate Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include throbbing headache, confusion, dizziness, perspiring skin, nausea, vomiting, difficulty breathing, slow pulse, and loss of consciousness.

    Isosorbide Mononitrate special notes: some persons may develop a tolerance to effects of this medication over time. Notify some your doctor if medication appears to be losing it is effectiveness or if the chest pain continues while taking this drug.

    If you missed Isosorbide Mononitrate dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take this if It's near the time for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.

    Isosorbide Mononitrate Storage: Store med in cool dry place between 36 and 86 degrees F (2 to 30 degrees C) in tight container. do not store in bathroom.
