    Nitroglycerin Usage: Nitroglycerin relaxes blood vessels allowing more blood to flow through. it reduces workload on heart and improves blood flow to heart. Sublingual nitroglycerin tablets act quickly to relieve chest pain (angina).

    How to use Nitroglycerin: at 1st sign of chest pain, sit down & place one tablet under tongue or between your cheek & gum allowing it to dissolve. the drug is absorbed directly through the lining of the mouth. do not chew or swallow tablet. do not eat, drink or smoke while the nitroglycerin is in your mouth. Effects should begin in 1 to 3 minutes. If after three minutes there is no relief of chest pain, take another tablet. If there is no relief after taking three meds, call youre doctor immediately or go to hospital emergency room. Carry this medication with you at every times.

    Nitroglycerin side effects: Headache, dizziness, flushing, rapid heartbeat or restlessness may occur as you're body adjusts to medication. If they persist or become bothersome, inform you're doctor. To prevent dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Notify your healthcare professional if you experience blurred vision, dry mouth, skin rash or nausea. Headache is often a sign drug is working. Treat headaches with an aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever as recommended by youre doctor. If the headaches continue or become severe, notify you're doctor. at the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're healthcare professional or pharmacist.

    Nitroglycerin Precautions: Before using this drug tell your healthcare professional your medical history especially about: heart problems, head injury or surgery, glaucoma, thyroid conditions, anemia, alcohol usage, any pill allergies. Use caution engaging in activities that require alertness or at operating machinery if this medication makes you dizzy or drowsy. Alcoholic beverages may increase the risk of fainting or of experiencing dizziness. this medication must be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss risks & benefits with you're doctor. this is not known if it drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

    Nitroglycerin drug interactions: it pill is not recommended for use with sildenafil. Ask some your doctor or pharmacist for more details. Tell your doctor of all drugs you may use including prescription & nonprescription drugs and especially: meds for HBP, certain migraine drugs (ergot alkaloids), aspirin. don't start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or physician approval.

    Nitroglycerin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include persistent, throbbing headache; dizziness; confusion; weakness; sweating; changes in heart rate; changes in vision; flushing; nausea; and vomiting.

    Nitroglycerin special notes: some persons may develop tolerance to effects of this drug over time. Notify your doctor if pill appears to be losing It's effectiveness or if chest pain continues while taking it drug.

    If you missed Nitroglycerin dose: this medication is used only at the onset about an attack of chest pain or 10 to 15 minutes before engaging in an activity that may cause chest pain. this med is not for routine use.

    Nitroglycerin Storage: If bottle of tablets contains cotton, remove this and throw cotton away. Replacing cotton in the bottle may cause drug to lose It's effectiveness. Store this medication at room temperature away from heat, moisture & sunlight. Store in it is original glass bottle & keep this tightly closed. do not store in the bathroom. pills effective for up to 6 months after opening bottle. Discard any unused tablets after 6 months.
