    Nitroglycerin - transdermal

    Nitrek Usage: Nitroglycerin relaxes blood vessels allowing more blood to flow through & improves blood flow to heart. Topical nitroglycerin skin patches are used to prevent angina (chest pain). this medication isnt for treating an attack about chest pain that has already started.

    How to use Nitrek: Transdermal skin patches are to be applied to a clean, hairless area on upper arm or chest not subject to excessive movement. patch should remain in place while bathing or showering. Remove previous patch before applying new one. Apply the new patch to a different area to minimize skin irritation by using new area of skin. the patch is usually worn for 12 to 14 hours day & than new patch put on 10 to 12 hours later or as directed. it drug-free period improves drug's effectiveness. don't stop using this drug suddenly without consulting your doctor. few conditions may worsen when pill is suddenly stopped. your dose may need to be gradually decreased.

    Nitrek side effects: Headache, dizziness, flushing, rapid heartbeat, restlessness, or skin irritation at patch site may occur as your body adjusts to the med. If any of these effects persist or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To prevent dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Notify youre pharmacist if you experience: blurred vision, dry mouth, skin rash, nausea. Headache is often a sign the medication is working. Treat headaches with an aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever as recommended by your physician. If headaches continue or become severe, notify your doctor. in the unlikely episode you have an allergic reaction to it drug, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.

    Nitrek Precautions: Before using this medication tell your doctor some your medical history especially of: heart problems, head injury or surgery, glaucoma, thyroid conditions, anemia, alcohol usage, allergies (especially allergies to drugs or adhesives). Use caution engaging at activities that require alertness or in operating machinery if this med makes you dizzy or drowsy. Alcoholic beverages may increase risk about fainting or of experiencing dizziness. this pill should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss the risks & benefits with your healthcare professional. it is not known if it drug is excreted into breast milk. Consult your pharmacist before breast-feeding.

    Nitrek drug interactions: Tell youre doctor of all medications you may use (including prescription & nonprescription drugs), especially of: drugs for high blood pressure, certain migraine pills (ergot alkaloids), sildenafil, high doses of aspirin. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.

    Nitrek Overdose: If overdose is suspected, remove the patch. Contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include persistent, throbbing headache; dizziness; confusion; weakness; sweating; changes in heart rate; changes in vision; flushing; nausea; & vomiting.

    Nitrek special notes: some persons may develop tolerance to effects of this drug over time. Notify some your physician if the med appears to be losing it is effectiveness or if chest pain continues while taking this drug.

    If you missed Nitrek dose: do not double dose if missed. Apply it as soon as possible & resume regular dosing schedule.

    Nitrek Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight & moisture. Keep away from heat or flame.

    Medical alert: your condition can cause complications in medical emergency.
