Ismo Usage: it tablet helps to widen blood vessels so blood flows better. it is used to prevent chest pain (angina).
How to use Ismo: Take this drug exactly as prescribed. Try to take it at the same times each day so you remember to take this. morning dose (or 1st dose) & afternoon dose (or second dose) should be taken 7 hours apart. don't stop taking this med with-out consulting your pharmacist. some conditions may become worse when the drug is abruptly stopped. your dose may need to be gradually decreased. this is important to continue taking this med routinely to prevent episodes of chest pain. this isnt helpful in relieving chest pain once this occurs.
Ismo side effects: Headache, dizziness, flushing, rapid heartbeat or restlessness may occur as your body adjusts to the tablet. If they persist or become bothersome, inform your doctor. To prevent dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Notify your doctor if you experience: blurred vision, dry mouth, skin rash, nausea. Headache is often a sign medication is working. Treat headaches with an aspirin or non-aspirin pain reliever as recommended by your physician. If the headaches continue or become severe, notify you're physician. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or doctor.
Ismo Precautions: Tell youre doctor if you have ever had: angle-closure glaucoma, blood disorders, LBP, recent head injury, recent heart attack, any allergies (especially to nitrates). Caution is advised when using it pill in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to the effects of the medication, especially blood pressure lowering effects. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your doctor. since small amounts about this drug found in breast milk, consult your doctor before breast-feeding. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit some your intake about alcoholic beverages & avoid overheating which will aggravate these effects.
Ismo drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take especially: any drug for blood pressure, certain pills for migraines (ergot alkaloids), sildenafil, high doses about aspirin. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or physician approval.
Ismo Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include throbbing headache, confusion, dizziness, perspiring skin, nausea, vomiting, difficulty breathing, slow pulse, & loss of consciousness.
Ismo special notes: some persons may develop tolerance to effects of this medication over time. Notify your healthcare professional if drug appears to be losing It's effectiveness or if chest pain continues while taking this drug.
If you missed Ismo dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near clock for the next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Ismo Storage: Store drug in cool dry place between 36 & 86 degrees F (2 to 30 degrees C) in tight container. do not store in bathroom.
