Tranxene Sd Usage: Clorazepate is used to treat anxiety, acute alcohol withdrawal, & seizures. this drug belongs to class of drugs called benzodiazepines which act on the brain & nerves (central nervous system) to produce calming effect. it works by enhancing effects of certain natural chemical in body (GABA).

How to use Tranxene Sd: Take this medication by mouth usually once a day, or as directed by your healthcare professional. dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. Swallow it medication whole. don't crush, chew, or break pills; doing so can destroy long action about the drug & may increase side effects. this product should not be used to start patient on clorazepate. patient must be maintained on stable dose of the immediate-acting form of clorazepate before being switched to this long-acting form by the healthcare professional. Use this medication exactly as prescribed. do not increase your dose, take this more frequently or use this for a longer period of time than prescribed because this medication can be habit-forming. Also, if used for an extended period of time or for seizure control, do not suddenly stop using it drug with out some your doctor's approval. several conditions may become worse when med is abruptly stopped. your dose may need to be gradually decreased. When used for an extended period, it drug may not work as well & may require different dosing. speak with youre physician if this medication stops working well.

Tranxene Sd side effects: Drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, dry mouth, upset stomach, constipation, blurred vision, or headache may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, notify your doctor or physician promptly. Tell your healthcare professional immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: mental/mood changes, slurred speech, clumsiness, trouble walking, decreased/increased interest in sex, tremor, trouble urinating, sleep disturbances. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: stomach/abdominal pain, persistent nausea, vomiting, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, persistent sore throat or fever. serious allergic reaction to this pill is unlikely, but seek immeditial medical attention if it occurs. Symptoms of serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.

Tranxene Sd Precautions: Before using this medication, tell your physician or pharmacist you're medical history, especially about: liver disease, kidney disease, lung/breathing problems (e.g., COPD, sleep apnea), drug or alcohol abuse, any allergies. it medication may make you dizzy, drowsy or cause blurred vision; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. Caution is advised when using this drug in elderly because they may be more sensitive to effects of the pill, especially drowsiness effect. this pill isn't recommended for use during pregnancy due to the potential since fetal harm. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform your doctor immediately. Consult you're physician for more details. this med passes in to breast milk and may have undesirable effects on nursing infant. Therefore, breast-feeding while using this medication is not recommended. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.

Tranxene Sd medication interactions: this drug must not be used with the following drugs because very serious interactions may occur: sodium oxybate. If you currently using any of these medications, tell some your pharmacist or physician before starting clorazepate. Before using it pill, tell you're healthcare professional or pharmacist about every prescription and nonprescription/herbal products you may use, especially of: antacids, certain anti-depressants (e.g., fluoxetine, fluvoxamine, nefazodone), cimetidine, clozapine, digoxin, disulfiram, kava, levodopa. Tell you're doctor or physician if you also take drugs that cause drowsiness such as: antihistamines that cause drowsiness (e.g., diphenhydramine), anti-seizure medications (e.g., carbamazepine), medicine for sleep (e.g., sedatives), muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine, or tricyclics such as amitriptyline), tranquilizers. USD labels on every your medicines (e.g., cough-and-cold products) because they may contain drowsiness-causing ingredients. Ask your doctor about the safe use of those products. Smoking can decrease effectiveness of this drug (through liver enzyme induction). Tell youre pharmacist if you smoke or if you have recently stopped smoking because your dose may need to be adjusted. don't start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or healthcare professional approval.

Tranxene Sd Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe drowsiness, slowed/reduced reflexes, slowed breathing, loss about consciousness.

Tranxene Sd special notes: do not share this drug with others. it is against the law. If it drug is used since an extended period about time, laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., liver function tests, complete blood count) may be performed periodically to dollars for side effects. If you missed Tranxene Sd dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If It's near the time about the next dose, skip the missed dose & resume some your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.

Tranxene Sd Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. do not store in the bathroom. Keep all medicines away from children and pets.
