Diazepam Usage: this medication is used at treatment of anxiety disorders, alcohol withdrawal, tremor, muscle spasms & to control seizures. this may also be used before surgery or procedures to reduce apprehension and anxiety.
How to use Diazepam: this medication is given by injection into vein or muscle by health care professional. Use this drug exactly as directed. do not increase dose or use this more often or continue using this since longer than prescribed.
Diazepam side effects: Drowsiness, dizziness, lightheadedness, headache or irritation in injection site may occur as your body adjusts to the drug. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform some your healthcare professional. Notify your pharmacist immediately if you develop: rapid heart rate, chest pain, yellowing of eyes or skin, mood changes, incoordination, strange thoughts, mental confusion, depression. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Diazepam Precautions: Tell youre doctor if you have: kidney problems, heart disease, liver problems, seizure disorder, any allergies. To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Alcoholic beverages will aggravate these effects. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this med causes you to feel drowsy. preservative (benzyl alcohol) which may be found in this product or in the liquid used to mix this product (diluent) can infrequently cause serious problems (sometimes death) if given by injection to an infant during the 1'st months of life (neonatal period). risk is greater with lower birth weight infants & is greater with increased amounts about benzyl alcohol. Symptoms include sudden gasping, low blood pressure, or very slow heartbeat. Report these symptoms to the physician immediately must they occur. If possible, preservative-free product should be used when treating neonates. this medication isnot recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your physician for details. Diazepam passes into breast milk and has had undesirable effects on nursing infants. Using this med while breast-feeding isn't recommended.
Diazepam med interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take, including: sedatives, antidepressants, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine). don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Diazepam Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include confusion, slow reflexes, clumsiness, deep sleep, & loss of consciousness.
Diazepam special notes: it tablet is also available at an oral form which you may be switched to when possible.
If you missed Diazepam dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; do not use it if It's near time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Diazepam Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat & light. don't store in bathroom.
