    Diazepam Usage: Diazepam is used to treat anxiety, acute alcohol withdrawal, & seizures. Its also used to relieve muscle spasms and to provide sedation before medical procedures. it medication belongs to class of drugs called benzodiazepines which act on brain & nerves (central nervous system) to produce calming effect. it works by enhancing the effects of a certain natural chemical in the body (GABA).

    Diazepam can be used also for: it drug may also be used to prevent extremely bad nightmares (night terrors).

    How to use Diazepam: Take this pill by mouth as directed by you're physician. the dosage is based on your medical condition & response to therapy. If you are using oral concentrate solution, use the dropper provided to carefully measure out the dose and mix it in liquid or soft food (e.g., applesauce, pudding) just before taking. Use this medication exactly as prescribed. do not increase your dose, take it more frequently or use it for a longer period about time then prescribed because this drug can be habit-forming. Also, if used for an extended period of clock or for seizure control, do not suddenly stop using this drug with out your doctor's approval. some conditions may become worse when the drug is abruptly stopped. your dose may need to be gradually decreased. When used for an extended period, it medication may not work as well and may require different dosing. talk with some your healthcare professional if this tablet stops working well. Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while being treated with this drug unless your pharmacist instructs you otherwise. Grapefruit juice can increase amount of certain drugs in your bloodstream. Consult your pharmacist or healthcare professional for more details.

    Diazepam side effects: Drowsiness, dizziness, fatigue, constipation, blurred vision, or headache may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, notify you're pharmacist or pharmacist promptly. Tell your healthcare professional immediately if any of these unlikely but serious side effects occur: mental/mood changes, slurred speech, clumsiness, trouble walking, decreased/increased interest in sex, tremor, trouble urinating, sleep disturbances. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of these highly unlikely but very serious side effects occur: stomach/abdominal pain, persistent nausea, vomiting, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, persistent sore throat or fever. serious allergic reaction to this pill is unlikely, but seek immediate medical attention if this occurs. Symptoms of a serious allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your pharmacist or pharmacist.

    Diazepam Precautions: Before using this med, tell your pharmacist or pharmacist your medical history, especially of: liver disease, kidney disease, lung/breathing problems (e.g., COPD, sleep apnea), medication or alcohol abuse, any allergies. this medication may make you dizzy, drowsy or cause blurred vision; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcoholic beverages. Caution is advised when using this tablet in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to effects of drug, especially drowsiness effect. it drug isnot recommended for use during pregnancy due to the potential for fetal harm. If you become pregnant or think you may be pregnant, inform youre doctor immediately. Consult some your healthcare professional since more details. this drug passes into breast milk & may have undesirable effects on a nursing infant. Therefore, breast-feeding while using this medication isnt recommended. Consult some your physician before breast-feeding.

    Diazepam drug interactions: watch also the How to Use section. this drug shouldnot be used with following medications because very serious interactions may occur: fluvoxamine, sodium oxybate. If you are currently using any about these meds, tell your healthcare professional or pharmacist before starting diazepam. Before using this medication, tell some your physician or doctor of every prescription & nonprescription/herbal goods you may use, especially of: antacids, certain anti-depressants (e.g., fluoxetine, nefazodone), cimetidine, clozapine, digoxin, disulfiram, kava, levodopa. Tell your pharmacist or physician if you also take tablets that cause drowsiness such as: antihistamines that cause drowsiness (e.g., diphenhydramine), anti-seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine), medicine for sleep (e.g., sedatives), muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine, or tricyclics such as amitriptyline), tranquilizers. check the labels on every your medicines (e.g., cough-and-cold products) because they can contain drowsiness-causing ingredients. Ask your pharmacist about safe use of those products. this product can affect the results of certain lab tests. Make sure laboratory personnel and your physicians know you use it med. Smoking can decrease effectiveness of this medication (through liver enzyme induction). Tell some your doctor if you smoke or if you have recently stopped smoking because your dose may need to be adjusted. do not start or stop any medicine with-out healthcare professional or healthcare professional approval.

    Diazepam Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include: severe drowsiness, slowed/reduced reflexes, slowed breathing, fainting, loss of consciousness.

    Diazepam special notes: do not share this pill with others. it is against the law. If this drug is used for an extended period of time, laboratory and/or medical tests (e.g., liver function tests, complete blood count) may be performed periodically to cash for side effects. Consult some your healthcare professional for more details.

    If you missed Diazepam dose: If you miss a dose, use it as soon as you remember. If Its near clock about the following dose, skip missed dose & resume you're usual dosing schedule. don't double dose to catch up. If you taking this medication since seizures, take it if remembered within 1 hour of the missed dose, but skip it if more than 1 hour has passed.

    Diazepam Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from light & moisture. don't store in bathroom. Keep every medicines away from children and pets.
