Guaifenesin/dextromethorphan/decongestant - oral
Gdp Ex Usage: Guaifenesin is an expectorant which helps to loosen mucus. Dextromethorphan suppresses cough. Decongestants relieve nasal stuffiness. it combination med is used to treat cough & relieve symptoms associated with the common cold, allergies, hay fever, sinusitis & other respiratory illnesses.
How to use Gdp Ex: this drug is best taken with a full glass about water after meal or snack. Swallow long acting tablets & capsules whole. do not crush or chew them because the long action will be destroyed and the chance of side effects will be increased. Take this tablet as prescribed. don't increase your dose or take this more many times than directed.
Gdp Ex side effects: Mild dizziness, mild drowsiness, headache, loss of appetite, nausea, dry mouth or nervousness may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, inform your physician. Notify your doctor if you develop: chest pain, rapid pulse, skin rash, painful or difficult urination, tremors, extreme nervousness, trouble sleeping. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Gdp Ex Precautions: Tell your physician youre medical history, especially: kidney disease, heart disease, lung disease, asthma, emphysema, HBP, overactive thyroid, diabetes, glaucoma, prostate trouble, any drug allergies. check this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if it contains PPA or if you are uncertain it product has PPA. this medication should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with some your physician. this tablet may be excreted in to breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Gdp Ex medication interactions: Tell your physician of all prescription and nonprescription medications you use, especially: med for blood pressure, MAO inhibitors (e.g., phenelzine, furazolidone, moclobemide, linezolid, procarbazine, selegiline), sibutramine, narcotic pain medicines (e.g., codeine, morphine). Limit your intake of alcoholic beverages while taking this medication. don't start or stop any medicine with-out healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Gdp Ex Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, blurred vision, loss of coordination, unusual movements of eyes, slow or shallow breathing, unconsciousness, slurred speech, change in behavior, convulsions, unusual slow or fast heartbeat, chest pain, increased thirst, fatigue, muscle weakness, headache, fever, chills, big pupils, anxiety, sweating, or tremors.
Gdp Ex special notes: Drink plenty of fluids, especially water while taking this drug. it will help to break up mucus & clear congestion.
If you missed Gdp Ex dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; don't take it if It's near the clock for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double the dose to catch up.
Gdp Ex Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in the bathroom.
