Diclofenac Sodium Usage: this tablet is used to treat inflammation and swelling in eye following cataract surgery.
Diclofenac Sodium can be used also for: this drug may also be used for other eye conditions/swelling.
How to use Diclofenac Sodium: for best effects, this drug must be used as directed. To apply eye drops, wash hands first. To avoid contamination, be careful not to touch the dropper or let this touch youre eye. Tilt your head back, gaze upward & pull down lower eyelid to make a pouch. Place dropper directly over eye & administer the prescribed number of drops. see downward and gently close some your eye for 1 to 2 minutes. Place one finger at corner about the eye near nose & apply gentle pressure. it will prevent medication from draining away from the eye. Try not to blink & do not rub the eye. do not rinse dropper. If you using another kind of eye drop, wait at least five minutes before applying other medications.
Diclofenac Sodium side effects: it medication may temporarily sting some your eyes since a minute or two when applied. If stinging continues or becomes bothersome, inform you're pharmacist. Vision may be temporarily blurred or unstable after applying eye drops. Use caution if driving or performing duties requiring clear vision. Notify your pharmacist immediately if you develop: skin rash, itching/redness/pain around the eyes, vision problems. this drug can cause nausea, vomiting or stomach upset. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.
Diclofenac Sodium Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have any of the next conditions: bleeding disorders, previous eye surgery, certain eye diseases (cornea-related), diabetes, rheumatoid arthritis, asthma, nasal polyps, any allergies - especially aspirin/NSAID allergy (e.g., ibuprofen, celecoxib). it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks and benefits with your doctor. it isn't known if this drug is found at breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Diclofenac Sodium drug interactions: Tell your healthcare professional of any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may use, including: other eye medications, other NSAID tablets (e.g. aspirin, ibuprofen), 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin, heparin). do not start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.
Diclofenac Sodium Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. this medicine may be harmful if swallowed.
Diclofenac Sodium special notes: it medication has caused redness & burning of the eyes in persons wearing soft contact lenses.
If you missed Diclofenac Sodium dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; don't use this if it is near the clock for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Diclofenac Sodium Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. Discard it if solution turns brown, cloudy or contains particles.
