Indocin Usage: it pill relieves pain and reduces inflammation. it is commonly used to treat pain, swelling & stiffness associated with arthritis, gout, bursitis and tendonitis.

How to use Indocin: If suppository is too soft to insert, put this in cold water or refrigerate since 30 minutes before removing foil wrapper. Unwrap foil & moisten the suppository with a little water. Lie down on your left side with right knee bent. Push the suppository into rectum with your finger. Remain lying down since few minutes and avoid having bowel movement for an hour or longer so the drug will be absorbed. Use this medication as directed. do not use more many times than recommended.

Indocin side effects: Headache, loss of appetite, lightheadedness, dizziness, constipation, or nervousness may occur as your body adjusts to the medication. Drowsiness or blurred vision may also occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact youre pharmacist or physician promptly. Rectal irritation can occur with too many use of indomethacin suppositories, or if you have broken or inflamed skin. Notify some your doctor if this occurs. Notify your physician promptly if you develop: rectal bleeding, vision changes, severe headache (especially in the morning), ringing in ears/loss of hearing. If you notice any of next unlikely but very serious side effects, stop taking it medication & consult your pharmacist or pharmacist immediately: black stools, persistent stomach/ abdominal pain, vomit that looks like coffee grounds. An allergic reaction to this drug is unlikely, but seek immeditial doctor attention if this occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, severe dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or pharmacist.

Indocin Precautions: Tell your healthcare professional your medical history, especially of: liver or kidney disease, blood disorders, ulcers, heart disease, alcohol use, high blood pressure, eye disease, mental disturbances, brain disorders such as Parkinson's, asthma, nasal polyps, any allergies - especially aspirin/NSAID allergy (e.g., ibuprofen, celecoxib). Use caution when performing tasks requiring alertness. Limit alcohol intake as this may intensify drowsiness effect about this medication. this medicine may cause stomach bleeding. daily use of alcohol, especially when combined with this medicine, may increase you're risk for stomach bleeding. check with you're pharmacist or doctor for more information. don't take aspirin without consulting your physician. money the ingredients of any nonprescription medication you may be taking since much of cough-and-cold formulas contain aspirin. Infrequently, this drug may increase the skin's sensitivity to sunlight. If this happens to you, avoid prolonged sun exposure, wear protective clothing and use a sunscreen. Avoid sunlamps. Caution is advised when it tablet is used in the elderly. this medication should be used during pregnancy only if clearly needed. Discuss the risks and benefits with your healthcare professional. Use of this med during the last 6 months of pregnancy is not recommended. this med is excreted into breast milk. Consult some your pharmacist before breast-feeding.

Indocin drug interactions: Tell your doctor of every prescription & nonprescription meds you may use, especially of: 'blood thinners' such as warfarin, another arthritis drug, water pills, lithium. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or pharmacist approval.

Indocin Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include severe stomach pain, coffee ground-like vomit, dark stool, ringing in the ears, change in amount about urine, unusually fast or slow heartbeat, muscle weakness, slow or shallow breathing, confusion, severe headache or loss of consciousness.

Indocin special notes: in arthritis, it may take up to four weeks before the full effects about this medicine are noted. for best results, this must be taken regularly, as directed by your physician.

If you missed Indocin dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as remembered; don't use if it is almost clock for the following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Indocin Storage: Store in room temperature away from sunlight and moisture. Protect from freezing.
