Adoxa Usage: Doxycycline is an antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.
How to use Adoxa: Take each dose with full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) of water unless your pharmacist directs you otherwise. do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking this drug. Take with food or milk if stomach upset occurs unless your physician directs you otherwise. Take this med 2-3 hours before or after taking any medications containing magnesium, aluminum, or calcium. some examples include quinapril, didanosine, vitamins/minerals, and antacids. Sucralfate, bismuth subsalicylate, iron, & zinc are also included. These medications bind with doxycycline preventing Its full absorption. liquid suspension form of this medicine must be shaken well before using. Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine at your body is kept at constant level. Do this by taking the medicine at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day & night. Continue to take it medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after few days. Stopping tablet too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in a relapse about infection.
Adoxa side effects: this drug may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, headache or vomiting. If these symptoms persist or worsen, notify you're pharmacist. Very unlikely but report: stomach pain, yellowing of eyes or skin, vision changes, mental changes. Doxycycline increases sensitivity to sunlight. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or physician.
Adoxa Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially about: liver problems, kidney problems, allergies (especially tablet allergies), trouble swallowing, esophagus problems (e.g., hiatal hernia, GERD). Use of this medication since prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). Doxycycline may make you more prone to sunburn. Wear protective clothing & a sunscreen if needed. it drug should not be used by child up to 8 years of age because It's use may permanently discolor theyre teeth or cause other problems. Caution is advised in older children also. this drug is not recommended since use during pregnancy. Consult you're physician before using it medication. this drug passes into breast milk & has had undesirable effects on nursing infants. Therefore, this is use is not recommended while breast-feeding. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Adoxa drug interactions: Inform youre physician about every medicines you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: vitamins/minerals (e.g., magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, zinc), quinapril, didanosine, bismuth subsalicylate, sucralfate, antacids, other antibiotics, live vaccines, warfarin. it medicine may decrease effectiveness of oral contraceptives. Consult youre doctor or pharmacist about other types of birth control. do not start or stop any medicine with-out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Adoxa Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Adoxa special notes: it medication has been prescribed for your current condition only. do not use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. different med may be necessary.
If you missed Adoxa dose: If you must miss dose, take it as soon as remembered unless it is almost time for following dose. If it is nearly clock for next dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose.
Adoxa Storage: Store at room temperature away from moisture and sunlight. do not store in bathroom.
