Zithromax Usage: it dose form about azithromycin is used as single dose treatment for certain infections, including genital infections.
How to use Zithromax: Mix contents of packet at 2 ounces of water (60ml). Drink this immediately. Add another two ounces of water, mix and drink entire amount. this dose form of azithromycin may be taken with or without food. don't take antacids & this medication in same time, as antacids may interfere with absorption of azithromycin. Take antacids at least two hours after taking azithromycin.
Zithromax side effects: it med may cause stomach upset, loose stools, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps or vaginal irritation. If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform your pharmacist promptly. Notify your physician if you develop: symptoms of jaundice (e.g., dark urine, clay-colored stools, yellowing about eyes or skin). in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this medication, seek medical attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you develop diarrhea while taking this medication, notify youre pharmacist. do not take any nonprescription drugs to treat diarrhea without first consulting your healthcare professional. Use of this med for prolonged or repeated periods may result in a secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your physician or healthcare professional.
Zithromax Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: other illnesses, any allergies (especially drug allergies), liver disease, kidney disease, stomach problems (e.g., colitis). it drug should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Small amounts of med do appear in breast milk, so consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Zithromax medication interactions: do not take aluminum- & magnesium-containing antacids simultaneously with azithromycin. Tell your pharmacist of all over-the-counter & prescription drugs you are taking including: theophylline, warfarin, astemizole, terfenadine, nelfinavir, digoxin, triazolam, certain cholesterol-lowering medications (e.g., lovastatin), live vaccines. this med may interfere with effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using another methods of birth control with youre doctor. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or healthcare professional approval.
Zithromax Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, and diarrhea.
Zithromax special notes: this drug has been prescribed for some your current condition only. do not use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. different med may be necessary.
If you missed Zithromax dose: this tablet is to be used as onetime dose.
Zithromax Storage: Store between 40 & 86 degrees F (5 - 30 degrees C). Keep away from sun & moisture.
