Zithromax Usage: Azithromycin is an antibiotic used to treat wide variety about bacterial infections.
How to use Zithromax: this med canbe taken with or without food. Avoid taking antacids with this since the absorption of this tablet canbe affected. Wait at least 2 hours after taking this pill before taking an antacid. Antibiotics work best when the amount about medicine in you're body is kept at constant level. Do it by taking tablet at same time of day on each day of treatment. Continue to take it drug until full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a several days. Stopping the drug too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow and may result in relapse of infection.
Zithromax side effects: this medication can cause stomach upset, loose stools, loss of appetite, nausea, vomiting, stomach cramps or vaginal irritation. If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform your healthcare professional. If you develop diarrhea while taking it drug, notify your physician. do not take any nonprescription medications to treat diarrhea without first consulting youre healthcare professional. Notify your doctor if you develop: yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, clay-colored stools. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to it pill, seek medical attention immediately. Zithromax drug interactions: don't take aluminum- & magnesium-containing antacids simultaneously with azithromycin. Tell your doctor of all over-the-counter & prescription medications you take, including: theophylline, warfarin, digoxin, astemizole, terfenadine, nelfinavir, triazolam, certain drugs for high cholesterol (e.g., lovastatin), live vaccines. this medication may interfere with effectiveness of birth control pills. Discuss using other methods of birth control with your doctor. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Zithromax Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, & diarrhea.
Zithromax special notes: this drug has been prescribed for your current condition only. do not use this later for another infection or give it to someone else. a different drug may be necessary.
If you missed Zithromax dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost time for next dose. Instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' the doses.
