    Doxycycline - oral

    Doryx Usage: Doxycycline is an antibiotic used to treat a wide variety of bacterial infections.

    How to use Doryx: Take each dose with full glass (8 oz or 240 ml) about water unless your doctor directs you otherwise. do not lie down for 30 minutes after taking this drug. Take with food or milk if stomach upset occurs unless your doctor directs you otherwise. Take it drug 2-3 hours before or after taking any medications containing magnesium, aluminum, or calcium. several examples include quinapril, didanosine, vitamins/minerals, & antacids. Sucralfate, bismuth subsalicylate, iron, & zinc also included. These medications bind with doxycycline preventing Its full absorption. the liquid suspension form of this medicine must be shaken well before using. Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine at your body is kept at constant level. Do this by taking medicine at evenly spaced intervals throughout the day & night. Continue to take this medication until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in relapse of infection.

    Doryx side effects: this med may cause stomach upset, diarrhea, nausea, headache or vomiting. If these symptoms persist or worsen, notify your healthcare professional. Very unlikely but report: stomach pain, yellowing of the eyes or skin, vision changes, mental changes. Doxycycline increases sensitivity to sunlight. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to it drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or healthcare professional.

    Doryx Precautions: Tell your doctor your medical history, especially about: liver problems, kidney problems, allergies (especially drug allergies), trouble swallowing, esophagus problems (e.g., hiatal hernia, GERD). Use about this drug for prolonged or repeated periods may result in secondary infection (e.g., oral, bladder or vaginal yeast infection). Doxycycline may make you more prone to sunburn. Wear protective clothing & sunscreen if needed. this pill shouldn't be used by kid up to 8 years of age because Its use may permanently discolor their teeth or cause other problems. Caution is advised in older child also. this tablet isn't recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before using this drug. this drug passes into breast milk & has had undesirable effects on nursing infants. Therefore, It's use is not recommended while breast-feeding. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.

    Doryx drug interactions: Inform your doctor about every medicines you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: vitamins/minerals (e.g., magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, zinc), quinapril, didanosine, bismuth subsalicylate, sucralfate, antacids, other antibiotics, live vaccines, warfarin. this medicine may decrease the effectiveness about oral contraceptives. Consult you're doctor or healthcare professional about other types of birth control. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

    Doryx Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.

    Doryx special notes: it drug has been prescribed for your current condition only. do not use it later for another infection or give this to someone else. different med may be necessary.

    If you missed Doryx dose: If you should miss dose, take this as soon as remembered unless It's almost clock for the following dose. If It's nearly time for next dose, skip missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose.

    Doryx Storage: Store at room temperature away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom.
