Plavix Usage: this drug is used to help prevent heart attacks, strokes & other problems caused by narrowed blood vessels ('hardening of arteries').
How to use Plavix: Take this medicine as directed, generally once daily by mouth, with or without food.
Plavix side effects: Stomach pain, diarrhea, headache or dizziness might occur. If these effects persist or worsen, notify some your doctor promptly. Unlikely but report promptly: black stools, 'coffee-ground' appearing vomit, chest pain, swelling, unusual bleeding or bruising. Very unlikely but report promptly: fever, persistent sore throat, mood changes, vision problems, fainting. An allergic reaction to this medication is unlikely, but seek immediate doctor attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're physician or physician.
Plavix Precautions: Before using it pill, tell you're doctor you're medical history, especially of: allergies (especially drug allergies), ulcers, abnormal bleeding or blood disorders, serious injury, recent surgery, liver disease. Limit alcohol intake, as this may aggravate certain side effects of it medicine, especially stomach bleeding. Use caution operating machinery or performing hazardous tasks as this medicine can cause dizziness. Tell your healthcare professional if you are pregnant before using this medication. It's not known whether this drug is excreted in to breast milk. Breast-feeding is not recommended while using it medicine. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Plavix pill interactions: If you currently taking aspirin, consult you're healthcare professional promptly & ask if you should continue or stop taking aspirin with this medication for your specific condition (e.g., aspirin and clopidogrel may be used in combination after a coronary stent procedure). If you not currently taking aspirin, consult youre healthcare professional before starting aspirin for any medical condition. cash the labels on all some your medicines because they may contain pain relievers/fever reducers (NSAIDs such as ibuprofen, naproxen, or aspirin). Ask you're healthcare professional about safe use of those products while taking clopidogrel. Tell your doctor of every nonprescription and prescription drug you use, especially about: atorvastatin, 'blood thinners' (e.g., warfarin, heparin), phenytoin, tamoxifen, tolbutamide, torsemide, fluvastatin. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Plavix Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately.
Plavix special notes: don't share this medicine with others. Inform every doctors & dentists involved at youre care about your use about this drug.
If you missed Plavix dose: If you miss dose, use it as soon as you remember. If It's near the time about following dose, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Plavix Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15-30 degrees C) away from sunlight and moisture.
