Klonopin Usage: this drug is used to treat seizure disorders as well as anxiety symptoms associated with panic disorders. Clonazepam belongs to a class about medications called benzodiazepines. These medicines work directly on the brain & nerves (central nervous system) to produce calming effect.
How to use Klonopin: Take it pill by mouth exactly as directed by you're physician. These pills come packaged in a blister pack. do not remove tablet from the packaging until you ready to take dose. Separate pouch at perforation. Bend corner of the package where directed. Peel back foil layer to show the tablet. do not try to push pill through foil, this can damage tablet. Remove the tablet from pouch & with dry hands immediately place this on your tongue. do not try to split or chew the tablet. the tablet will melt on your tongue in a few seconds. After the pill has melted on youre tongue, it can be swallowed with or without water or other liquid. do not increase your dose, take it more frequently, or use this for longer period about clock than prescribed, because this drug may be habit forming. If using it pill for an extended period of clock, do not suddenly stop taking this drug with out consulting some your doctor. few conditions may become worse when the medication is suddenly stopped. your dose will need to be gradually decreased to avoid side effects such as seizures. When used for an extended period, this med may not work as well & may require different dosing. speak with your doctor if this tablet stops working well.
Klonopin side effects: Drowsiness, dizziness, tiredness, reduced desire for sex, menstrual cramps, increased saliva production, or common cold symptoms (e.g., cough, runny nose) may occur. If any about these effects persist or worsen, notify your physician or pharmacist promptly. Tell some your pharmacist immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: mental/mood changes, loss of coordination. Tell your pharmacist immediately if any of these serious but unlikely side effects occur: confusion, nervousness, seizure, slurred speech or difficulty speaking, stomach pain, memory difficulties, vision changes. Klonopin Precautions: this medication should not be used if you have certain medical conditions. Before using this medicine, consult youre physician or physician if you have: glaucoma (narrow angle), severe liver disease, allergy to any other benzodiazepine (e.g., diazepam, lorazepam). Before using this drug, tell you're pharmacist or physician your medical history, especially of: glaucoma (open angle), kidney disease, liver disease, lung disease, seizures, history of drug dependence, alcohol use, any allergies. it drug may make you dizzy or drowsy; use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Avoid alcoholic beverages. Caution is advised when using this drug in the elderly because they may be more sensitive to effects of the medication, especially the drowsiness effect. this med is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Klonopin pill interactions: Before using this drug, tell your doctor or healthcare professional of every prescription & nonprescription products you may use, especially about: anti-seizure drugs (e.g., carbamazepine, phenytoin, phenobarbital), cimetidine, nefazodone, kava. Report every drugs that cause drowsiness such as: medicine since sleep (e.g., sedatives), tranquilizers, anti-anxiety drugs (e.g., diazepam), narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicines (e.g., phenothiazines such as chlorpromazine, or tricyclics such as amitriptyline), anti-seizure medications (e.g., carbamazepine), muscle relaxants, antihistamines that cause drowsiness (e.g., diphenhydramine). Flumazenil is a medication which can partially or fully reverse the effects of benzodiazepines, including clonazepam. Patients being treated with clonazepam for treatment about seizures should not be given flumazenil because seizures may occur.
