Warning: rarely, serious (sometimes fatal) liver problems have occurred in patients using it drug. kid using this drug who are under age about 2 years are at higher risk to experience liver problems, especially if they also have severe seizure disorder along with mental retardation; are using more than one seizure control drug; have body process (metabolic) problems or have brain disorders. If used at these patients, this med must not be used with additional seizure control drugs. Early signs of liver problems include loss about seizure control, vomiting, unusual tiredness/weakness, loss of appetite, yellowing eyes/skin, or swelling about face. Contact your physician promptly if you develop any of these symptoms. Liver tests should be run before & during use of the drug. rarely, severe (sometimes fatal) pancreatitis (pancreas inflammation) has occurred during use of this pill. it may progress quickly & may include abdominal pain, nausea, vomiting, and loss about appetite. Contact your healthcare professional promptly if you develop any of these symptoms. rarely, severe (sometimes fatal) encephalopathy (decreased mental status) has occurred during use of it drug. this has occurred in patients with a specific metabolic disorder (urea cycle disorder). Symptoms may include unusual weakness, vomiting, or mental changes. Contact your physician promptly if you develop any of these symptoms. this pill can cause birth defects. Consult youre pharmacist about use of it pill during pregnancy.

Depakote Sprinkle Usage: this tablet is used to treat seizure disorders & to prevent migraine headaches.

How to use Depakote Sprinkle: May be taken with food if stomach upset occurs. Capsules may be swallowed whole or open the capsules and sprinkle entire contents on teaspoonful about soft food such as applesauce or pudding. Swallow the drug/food mixture immediately (do not chew). do not keep since future use. It's important to take all doses on time to keep the level of medication in your blood constant. Take doses in evenly spaced intervals.

Depakote Sprinkle side effects: Mild stomach pain, loss about appetite, change in menstrual periods, diarrhea, mild hair loss, unsteadiness, dizziness, drowsiness, rash or headache might occur. If any about these effects continue or bothersome, inform your physician. Very unlikely but report: yellowing eye/skin, blurred or double vision, severe stomach pain, unusual bleeding or bruising. Tell you're physician immediately if any of these serious side effects occur: unusual weakness, vomiting, mood or mental changes. Depakote Sprinkle Precautions: Before you take it drug, tell youre doctor if you have: bleeding disorder, brain disorder, any allergies. it medication isn't recommended for use if you have the following medical conditions: liver disease, pancreatitis, certain metabolic disorder (urea cycle disorder). Use caution driving motor vehicles or performing tasks that require alertness. Limit your consumption of alcoholic beverages. Before having surgery, including dental surgery, tell the doctor that you take it med. this drug may interfere with urine ketone testing & give false positive results. If very high sugar readings (e.g., over 300) occurring, ketones may be in some your urine. Contact some your doctor or pharmacist for further advice. Use with extreme caution in kid under 2 years old as the potential for serious liver problems exist. the medication is not recommended for use during pregnancy. Consult your healthcare professional before taking this drug. Divalproex is excreted in to people breast milk. Consult some your pharmacist before breast-feeding.

Depakote Sprinkle drug interactions: Be sure to tell youre physician about all over-the-counter or prescription drugs you are taking, especially of: other med for seizures (phenobarbital, primidone, phenytoin, carbamazepine, ethosuximide, clonazepam), anticoagulants ('blood thinners'), aspirin, chlorpromazine, cimetidine, mefloquine, drugs used for colds or allergies (antihistamines), sleeping pills, muscle relaxants, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), sedatives or tranquilizers. this drug may alter certain laboratory test results (e.g., urine ketones). Consult some your doctor or healthcare professional. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Depakote Sprinkle Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact some your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include deep sleep, irregular heartbeat, & loss of consciousness.

Depakote Sprinkle special notes: It's recommended to wear or carry medication identification indicating you are taking this medication. Lab tests may be done, especially in 1'st some months to money if the drug is working properly. do not allow anyone else to take this drug.

If you missed Depakote Sprinkle dose: If you miss a dose & you're dosing schedule is 1 dose daily, take missed dose as soon as remembered. If you don't remember until next day, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. If you take two or more doses daily and you remember within 6 hours of missed dose, take this immediately. then take the remainder of the doses for that day in evenly spaced intervals. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

Depakote Sprinkle Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture and sunlight. do not store at bathroom.
