Warning: Because severe (sometimes fatal) blood disorders (aplastic anemia, pancytopenia) and liver problems have occurred with usage about felbamate, this should be used only at person with severe epilepsy and only after careful consideration. Aplastic anemia may occur even after the drug has been stopped. this medication is not recommended for use in those who have liver problems. Stop using this drug & immediately notify you're physician if you have symptoms of infection such as fever, chills, or persistent sore throat or if you have unusual bleeding or bruising, weakness, fatigue, dark urine, yellowing of eyes or skin, or persistent stomach/abdominal pain. your physician will perform liver function tests before starting felbamate and all 1 to two weeks while you use it med. Blood tests may also be performed.

Felbatol Usage: this medication is used to treat seizures/epilepsy.
How to use Felbatol: this medication may be taken with or without food. Take with food or milk if stomach upset occurs. Follow dosing schedule precisely. do not stop taking this drug suddenly without consulting your physician as seizures may occur. Its important to take every doses on time to keep the level about pill in your blood constant. Do this by taking doses at the same times each day. do not skip doses.
Felbatol side effects: it med may rarely cause severe anemia and liver damage. Be sure to notify your healthcare professional immediately if you experience any of following: fever, sore throat or mouth, simple bruising, pale skin, pale fingernails, skin rash/hives/itching, fatigue, dark urine, pale stools, yellowing of skin or eyes. other side effects are relatively mild. the most frequent nausea, vomiting, drowsiness, constipation, insomnia, headache, loss of appetite & weight loss. These tend to diminish over time with continued use. Be sure to tell your doctor if any of these side effects persist or worsen. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Felbatol Precautions: this medication is only to be used when other treatments have not been successful & risk of aplastic anemia is acceptable. Tell your doctor if you have: kidney disease, heart disease, liver disease, anemia, allergies. this medication may make you more sensitive to sun. Avoid prolonged sun exposure. Wear protective clothing & use sunscreen when outdoors. it medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your doctor. this drug appears in breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Felbatol drug interactions: Tell youre healthcare professional of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: other anti- seizure medications (e.g., carbamazepine, phenytoin, valproic acid). do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or pharmacist approval.
Felbatol Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include stomach upset & fast heart rate.
Felbatol special notes: Be sure to let you're doctor know you if you taking any another medication for seizures because the dose may need to be adjusted.
If you missed Felbatol dose: If you miss dose, contact your physician who will help establish new dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Felbatol Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom.
Medical alert: your condition can cause complications in a medical emergency.
