Sulfinpyrazone Usage: Sulfinpyrazone is used to prevent gout & gouty arthritis. it is not meant to be used for acute attacks about gout.
How to use Sulfinpyrazone: it is best taken with food or milk to prevent an upset stomach. it is advisable to drink a full glass about water with each dose & to drink at least 8 glasses (8 ounces each) of water a day while taking it medicine to prevent the formation of kidney stones.
Sulfinpyrazone side effects: Nausea, vomiting, stomach upset or diarrhea may occur as your body adjusts to med. If these effects persist or worsen, inform your doctor. Notify your doctor if you develop: sore throat, easy bruising or bleeding, lower back pain, difficulty urinating. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to it drug, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre healthcare professional or healthcare professional.
Sulfinpyrazone Precautions: Tell some your pharmacist your medical history, especially about: ulcers or stomach/intestinal diseases, blood diseases, kidney problems, any tablet allergies. Avoid alcohol while taking this med. this drug should be used only when clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks and benefits with your healthcare professional. it isn't known if sulfinpyrazone is excreted into breast milk. Consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.
Sulfinpyrazone medication interactions: Tell your physician about all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: warfarin, platelet aggregation inhibitors (e.g., dipyridamole), valproic acid, phenytoin, tolbutamide, choose antibiotics (sulfas or nitrofurantoin). Aspirin can prevent this medication from being fully effective. Avoid aspirin & another salicylates while taking this medication. many over-the-counter products contain aspirin. Consult your healthcare professional before using these over-the-counter medicines. don't start or stop any medicine without physician or doctor approval.
Sulfinpyrazone Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, stomach pain, trouble walking, difficulty breathing, seizures, & loss of consciousness.
Sulfinpyrazone special notes: this drug may be prescribed with another drug used to treat acute attacks about gout. don't share this drug with others.
If you missed Sulfinpyrazone dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if it is almost time for next dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Sulfinpyrazone Storage: Store at room temperature away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom.
