Benadryl Usage: Antihistamines provide relief of symptoms of allergies such as rash, hives, watery eyes, runny nose, itching eyes and sneezing. Decongestants relieve congestion, promote sinus draining and improve breathing.

How to use Benadryl: May be taken with food or milk to prevent stomach upset. Its recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking this medication, unless your doctor instructs you otherwise. If symptoms don't improve after 7 days or are accompanied by a high fever, notify your doctor. do not increase dose or take this more frequently than recommended. suspension dosage form must be shaken well before each use.

Benadryl side effects: can cause drowsiness, dizziness, headache, loss about appetite, stomach upset, blurred vision, restlessness, irritability & dry mouth and nose. These effects must subside as your body adjusts to med. If they persist or become bothersome, inform youre healthcare professional. Notify youre healthcare professional if you develop: breathing difficulties, heart pounding, irregular heartbeat, chest pain, ringing in the ears, difficulty urinating. may cause dizziness especially when rising quickly from seated or lying position. Change positions slowly and be careful on stairs. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact you're pharmacist or pharmacist.

Benadryl Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, especially of: asthma, glaucoma, ulcers, difficulty urinating due to an enlarged prostate gland, heart disease, HBP, seizures, an overactive thyroid gland, drug allergies. money this product's ingredient list for phenylpropanolamine (PPA). FDA has issued warnings regarding PPA side effects. Consult your pharmacist promptly if this contains PPA or if you are uncertain this product has PPA. do not drink alcoholic beverages. this medication should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding. do not give this tablet to children younger than six years of age unless directed to do so by a doctor.

Benadryl medication interactions: Tell youre doctor what medications you take, especially of: high blood pressure drugs, anti-seizure drugs, antidepressants, sleeping meds, sedatives, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants, narcotic pain drug, other cold or allergy tablet. do not take this drug if you have taken an MAO inhibitor (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine) within last 2 weeks. don't start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.

Benadryl Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose in children may include dizziness, nausea/vomiting, abnormal eye movements, flushed face, dry mouth, change in amount of urine, fever, excitation, agitation, unconsciousness, bizarre behavior, confusion, restlessness, irritability, delirium, twitching, tiredness, abnormal tongue movement, trembling extremities, slurred speech, or seizures. Symptoms of overdose at adults may include nausea/vomiting, drowsiness, dizziness, or unconsciousness, which may be followed by excitement or seizures.

If you missed Benadryl dose: If you miss a dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost clock for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
