Aldomet Usage: this medication is used for HBP (hypertension).
How to use Aldomet: Take this med exactly as prescribed. Try to take this at same times each day. pills may be taken with food or milk to avoid stomach irritation. Its important to continue taking it med even if you feel well. most human with HBP do not feel sick. do not stop taking this med without consulting your pharmacist. some conditions may become worse when drug is abruptly stopped. your dose may need to be gradually decreased.
Aldomet side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, headache, gas, dry mouth, fatigue, & stomach upset may occur first several days as you're body adjusts to medication. Inform you're healthcare professional if you develop: chest pain, difficulty breathing, depression, severe stomach cramps, unusual bleeding or bruising, yellowing of skin or eyes, rash. at unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this medication, seek immeditial medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or physician.
Aldomet Precautions: Tell your physician your medical history, especially about: liver problems, any allergies. To avoid dizziness and lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Alcohol may increase the dizziness/drowsiness effects of this medication. Limit alcohol intake. Before using this drug, tell your doctor if you pregnant. Methyldopa is excreted in to breast milk. Though they're have been no recent reports of harm to nursing infants, consult your physician before breast-feeding.
Aldomet drug interactions: Inform youre physician of all medications you may use (both prescription & nonprescription), especially of: lithium, MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, moclobemide, phenelzine, procarbazine, selegiline), levodopa, medication for depression, iron supplements, any other blood pressure drugs. Consult your pharmacist or physician before taking any drugs that increase some your heart rate, such as decongestants often found in nonprescription cough-and-cold products: phenylephrine, pseudoephedrine, phenylpropanolamine. Caffeine may increase you're blood pressure. Caffeine can be found in nonprescription diet meds, in colas, coffee or tea. Limit caffeine intake. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or pharmacist approval.
Aldomet Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include drowsiness, weakness, dizziness, slowed heart rate, diarrhea, nausea, & vomiting.
Aldomet special notes: It's important to have you're blood pressure checked regularly while taking this medication. Learn how to monitor your blood pressure. Discuss it with you're doctor.
If you missed Aldomet dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take if Its almost clock for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
Aldomet Storage: Store at room temperature away from moisture & sunlight. don't store in the bathroom. do not freeze liquid forms of this drug.
