Cartrol Usage: this medication is used for chest pain (angina), hypertension & irregular heartbeats.
How to use Cartrol: Take it drug exactly as prescribed. Try to take it at the same times each day. don't suddenly stop taking this drug without consulting your pharmacist. some conditions may become worse when drug is suddenly stopped.
Cartrol side effects: You may experience dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, and blurred vision as youre body adjusts to drug. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. Because beta-blockers may reduce blood circulation to the extremities, some your hands and feet may be cold. Dress warm. Inform your physician if you develop: easy bruising or bleeding, swollen hands or feet, confusion, depression, sore throat. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this drug, seek doctor attention immediately. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact youre pharmacist or pharmacist.
Cartrol Precautions: Before taking this medication, tell youre healthcare professional if you have a history of: heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema, any other lung disease, diabetes, overactive thyroid gland, any drug allergies. Before having surgery, tell the doctor or dentist in charge that you are taking a beta-blocker. it pill should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss the risks & benefits with your physician. this drug is excreted in to breast milk & though no problems have been noted, possibility for adverse effects to infant exists. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Cartrol drug interactions: Tell your physician of all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: diuretics, cold preparations and nasal decongestants, reserpine, other heart or HBP drugs, St John's wort. do not start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Cartrol Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include unusually fast or slow heartbeat, dizziness, slow or shallow breathing, seizures, unconsciousness, weakness, or fatigue.
Cartrol special notes: you're physician may want you to take you're pulse each day while you take this drug. Learn how to monitor your pulse.
If you missed Cartrol dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered but not if It's within 4 hours about next dose (8 hours for penbutolol, atenolol, nadolol). If It's, skip the missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Cartrol Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. do not store in bathroom.
