Lopressor Usage: Metoprolol slows the heart rate and reduces high blood pressure. it is used to treat angina (chest pain), high blood pressure, or irregular heartbeats.
How to use Lopressor: Use this medication exactly as prescribed. Try to use it at same times each day. do not suddenly stop using it drug without consulting your doctor. some conditions may become worse when med is suddenly stopped.
Lopressor side effects: You may experience dizziness, lightheadedness, drowsiness, and blurred vision as your body adjusts to medication. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness. Because metoprolol reduces blood circulation to extremities, you're hands & feet may be more susceptible to cold. Dress warm. Inform your doctor if you develop: breathing difficulties, simple bruising or bleeding, swollen hands or feet, confusion, depression, a sore throat. If you notice another effects not listed above, contact you're doctor or doctor.
Lopressor Precautions: Before taking this drug, tell youre healthcare professional if you have a history about: heart disease, kidney disease, liver disease, asthma, bronchitis, emphysema or other lung disease, diabetes, an overactive thyroid gland. You may want to check your pulse every day while taking this medication. Discuss with your pharmacist what changes in your pulse rate mean. Before having surgery, tell the doctor or dentist you use metoprolol. this pill should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Beta blockers do appear in breast milk. Consult with your pharmacist before breast-feeding.
Lopressor drug interactions: Tell your physician of all prescription & nonprescription drugs you may use, especially of: diuretics, cold preparations & nasal decongestants, reserpine, other heart or blood pressure medications, St John's wort. do not start or stop any medicine without doctor or pharmacist approval.
Lopressor Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include nausea, vomiting, headache, slow heartbeat, severe drowsiness, dizziness, difficulty breathing, or fainting.
Lopressor special notes: do not share this product with others.
If you missed Lopressor dose: If you miss dose, use this as soon as remembered; don't use if it is almost clock for following dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Lopressor Storage: Store in room temperature away from sunlight & moisture. do not freeze.
