Teveten Usage: it drug is used to treat high blood pressure (hypertension). it works by preventing narrowing of blood vessels. high blood pressure reduction helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, & kidney problems.
Teveten can be used also for: this drug may also be used to treat congestive heart failure or to prevent diabetic kidney problems.
How to use Teveten: Take this med by mouth as prescribed, and learn proper usage. Consult you're physician. Be sure to follow dosing instructions closely. do not increase your dose, skip any doses or stop taking this with-out 1'st consulting your pharmacist. Before using potassium supplements or salt substitutes, consult your healthcare professional or pharmacist. Its important to continue taking this drug even if you do not feel sick. the majority of the human with HBP do not have any symptoms.
Teveten side effects: Infrequent side effects such as dizziness, diarrhea, stomach upset, stuffed nose or dry mouth may occur 1'st some days as youre body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your physician. Unlikely to occur but report promptly: abdominal pain, persistent sore throat, muscle weakness, unusual fatigue, joint or muscle aches, fever, major change in the amount of urine eliminated. in unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this med, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your healthcare professional or doctor.
Teveten Precautions: Tell you're doctor some your medical history, including: kidney or liver disease, congestive heart failure, diabetes, allergies (especially drug allergies). To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from a seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this pill causes you to feel dizzy. Caution is advised when this med is used in elderly. They may be more sensitive to the effects of this medication. this medication can cause harm to fetus & it is use is not recommended during pregnancy. Consult your physician before using this medication. it is not known if this medication is excreted into breast milk. Consult your healthcare professional before breast-feeding.
Teveten drug interactions: Before using this drug, tell your physician or pharmacist of every prescription & nonprescription products you may use, especially about: ACE inhibitors (e.g., captopril, lisinopril), beta-blockers (e.g., atenolol, metoprolol), other heart drugs (e.g., digoxin), other hypertension meds, lithium, certain non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., indomethacin), potassium-sparing 'water pills' (diuretics such as amiloride, spironolactone, triamterene), 'water pills' (diuretics such as furosemide), potassium supplements (e.g., potassium chloride) or salt substitutes. check labels on every youre medicines (e.g., cough-and-cold products, diet aids) because they may contain ingredients that could increase your heart rate or blood pressure. Ask your pharmacist about the safe use of those products. do not start or stop any medicine with out healthcare professional or pharmacist approval.
Teveten Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include unusually fast or slow heartbeat or dizziness.
Teveten special notes: Laboratory tests will be done periodically to be sure drug is working properly and to monitor for possible side effects. Learn how to monitor your pulse and blood pressure. talk to your health care professional about this.
If you missed Teveten dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for the following dose, instead, skip missed dose and resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Teveten Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in bathroom.
