Benicar Usage: this med is used to treat HBP (hypertension). it works by preventing the narrowing of blood vessels. high blood pressure reduction helps prevent strokes, heart attacks, & kidney problems.
Benicar canbe used also since: this pill may also be used to treat congestive heart failure or to prevent diabetic kidney problems.
How to use Benicar: Take this pill by mouth as prescribed, & learn proper usage. Consult youre pharmacist. Be sure to follow dosing instructions closely. do not increase you're dose, skip any doses or stop taking it without first consulting your physician. Before using potassium supplements or salt substitutes, consult your physician or healthcare professional. it is important to continue taking this med even if you do not feel sick. most poeple with high blood pressure do not have any symptoms.
Benicar side effects: Infrequent side effects such as dizziness, diarrhea, stomach upset, stuffed nose or dry mouth may occur the 1st some days as your body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your physician. Unlikely to occur but report promptly: abdominal pain, persistent sore throat, muscle weakness, unusual fatigue, joint or muscle aches, fever, major change in the amount about urine eliminated. in unlikely chapter you have an allergic reaction to this med, seek immediate medical attention. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, breathing trouble. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your physician or healthcare professional.
Benicar Precautions: Tell your pharmacist you're medical history, including: kidney or liver disease, congestive heart failure, diabetes, allergies (especially pill allergies). To avoid dizziness & lightheadedness when rising from seated or lying position, get up slowly. Also limit some your intake of alcoholic beverages which will aggravate these effects. Use caution performing tasks requiring alertness if this tablet causes you to feel dizzy. Caution is advised when this drug is used in the elderly. They may be more sensitive to the effects about this drug. this med can cause harm to a fetus and Its use isnot recommended during pregnancy. Consult you're healthcare professional before using this drug. it isn't known if this drug is excreted in to breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Benicar drug interactions: Before using this drug, tell your doctor or pharmacist of all prescription & nonprescription products you may use, especially of: ACE inhibitors (e.g., captopril, lisinopril), beta-blockers (e.g., atenolol, metoprolol), another heart medications (e.g., digoxin), other high blood pressure medications, lithium, certain non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (e.g., indomethacin), potassium-sparing 'water pills' (diuretics such as amiloride, spironolactone, triamterene), 'water pills' (diuretics such as furosemide), potassium supplements (e.g., potassium chloride) or salt substitutes. cash labels on all your medicines (e.g., cough-and-cold products, diet aids) because they may contain ingredients that could increase your heart rate or blood pressure. Ask your doctor about safe use of those products. do not start or stop any medicine with out doctor or doctor approval.
Benicar Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include unusually fast or slow heartbeat or dizziness.
Benicar special notes: Laboratory tests will be done periodically to be sure tablet is working properly & to monitor for possible side effects. Learn how to monitor your pulse & blood pressure. talk to your health care professional about this.
If you missed Benicar dose: If you miss dose, take it as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near the time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Benicar Storage: Store in room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. do not store in the bathroom.
Medical alert: your condition can cause complications at a medical emergency.
