Primaquine Usage: this drug is used to prevent and treat malaria.
How to use Primaquine: Take this medication by mouth as directed. this may be taken with food if stomach upset occurs. for best results, take each dose in evenly spaced intervals around time. this will ensure constant level of drug in your blood. Take this medication for the full time prescribed. Stopping therapy too soon may result at a reinfection.
Primaquine side effects: Stomach upset, stomach cramps, nausea, vomiting, loss of appetite or muscle weakness may occur especially 1st several days as youre body adjusts to medication. If any of these effects continue or become bothersome, inform your pharmacist. Notify you're pharmacist if you develop any of these effects while taking it med: rash, rapid heart rate, changes in vision, hearing trouble, ringing in the ears, dark urine. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact your doctor or pharmacist.
Primaquine Precautions: Tell youre doctor some your medical history, especially of: blood disorders, arthritis, psoriasis, lupus erythematous, any enzyme deficiencies, liver disease, any allergies. it med should be used only if clearly needed during pregnancy. Discuss risks & benefits with some your physician. this isn't known if this pill appears in breast milk. Consult you're doctor before breast-feeding.
Primaquine drug interactions: Tell your doctor about any over-the-counter or prescription medication you may take especially: quinacrine, anti-cancer medications. don't start or stop any medicine without healthcare professional or physician approval.
Primaquine Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact youre local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include stomach cramps, vomiting, heartburn, & bluish discoloration of skin.
Primaquine special notes: Laboratory tests will be done periodically while taking this pill to monitor It's effects.
If you missed Primaquine dose: If you miss dose, take this as soon as remembered; do not take it if it is near time for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose and resume your usual dosing schedule. don't 'double-up' dose to catch up.
Primaquine Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 & 86 degrees F (15 to 30 degrees C) away from heat and light. don't store in the bathroom.
Medical alert: your condition can cause complications in a medical emergency.
