Warning: it med can cause serious, even life-threatening liver problems. Tell your doctor if you have history of liver disease. Notify youre pharmacist immediately if you develop nausea, vomiting, stomach pain, loss about appetite, fever, yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, or unusual fatigue. Laboratory tests (e.g., liver function tests) must be performed before & during use of it drug. your pharmacist will be monitoring some your treatment closely.

Flutamide Usage: Flutamide is used for prostate cancer. this is used along with another med to make it more effective. this drug isn't intended for use in girl.

How to use Flutamide: Take this drug exactly as directed. do not increase your dose or take it more often because side effects of this drug may increase. this tablet is best taken at evenly spaced intervals, & may be taken with or without food. do not stop taking this drug without your doctor's permission.

Flutamide side effects: Hot flashes, diarrhea, nausea, loss of appetite, swelling or tenderness of the breasts (gynocomastia), decreased sexual desire or ability (impotence), & decreased fertility may occur. If any of these effects persist or worsen, contact your pharmacist promptly. Tell youre physician immediately if you have any about these unlikely but serious side effects: rash, drowsiness, weakness, unusual fatigue, swelling about body (edema), mental/mood changes, easy bleeding or bruising, persistent sore throat, fever, bluish skin. Tell some your healthcare professional immediately if you have any of these very unlikely but serious side effects: yellowing eyes or skin, dark urine, fever, stomach pain, lumps in you're brests, sunburn-like effect (sun sensitivity). An allergic reaction to this med is unlikely, but seek immediate healthcare professional attention if it occurs. Symptoms of an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, dizziness, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre physician or physician.

Flutamide Precautions: Tell you're doctor your medical history, especially about: blood disorders, liver problems, any allergies, tobacco use. it pill may make you dizzy or drowsy. Use caution engaging in activities requiring alertness such as driving or using machinery. Limit alcohol intake because it can intensify the dizziness or drowsiness effects of it med. Because this med may make you more sensitive to the sun, limit sun exposure. Wear sunscreen & protective clothing. this pill isnot recommended for use in children. this drug is not indicated for use in gir & may cause serious harm if used by pregnant woman.

Flutamide drug interactions: Tell you're doctor of all prescription and nonprescription drugs you may use especially of: mibefradil, warfarin. Tell your doctor if you take any drugs that make you drowsy, such as: sleep medicine, sedatives, tranquilizers, anti-anxiety drugs, narcotic pain relievers (e.g., codeine), psychiatric medicine, anti-seizure drugs, muscle relaxants, certain antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine). cash labels of your cough-and-cold preparations because many contain drowsiness-causing antihistamines (e.g., diphenhydramine). Consult your pharmacist if you uncertain you're medicines add drowsiness effect. do not start or stop any medicine without pharmacist or healthcare professional approval.

Flutamide Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include loss about appetite, vomiting, slow breathing, decreased activity, & trouble walking.

Flutamide special notes: this med must be taken under close medical supervision. Discuss the risks & benefits of this therapy with your doctor. Laboratory tests (e.g., liver function) will be done periodically to monitor your progress.

If you missed Flutamide dose: If you miss a dose, take it as soon as you remember. If it is near the time of the next dose, skip missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not double dose to catch up.
