Nalidixic acid - oral

Neggram Usage: this medication is an antibiotic used to treat urinary tract infections.
How to use Neggram: this medication works best if taken on an empty stomach one hour before or 2 hours after meals. Take each dose with full glass of water. If stomach upset occurs take with food or milk. Take it pill two hours before or two hours after taking any medications containing magnesium, aluminum, or calcium. some examples include quinapril, didanosine, vitamins/minerals, & antacids. Sucralfate, bismuth subsalicylate, iron, & zinc also included. These drugs bind with nalidixic acid preventing it is full absorption. Antibiotics work best when amount of medicine in your body is kept at a constant level. Do this by taking drug at evenly spaced intervals throughout day and night. Continue to take it drug until the full prescribed amount is finished even if symptoms disappear after a few days. Stopping medication too early may allow bacteria to continue to grow resulting in relapse of the infection. Its recommended to drink plenty of fluids while taking it drug unless your healthcare professional directs you otherwise.
Neggram side effects: this drug may cause stomach upset, loss of appetite, diarrhea, nausea, headache, drowsiness, or dizziness during first few days as you're body adjusts to med. If these symptoms persist or become severe, inform your physician. Notify you're pharmacist if you develop: restlessness, vision changes, mental/mood changes, ringing at ears, seizures. in the unlikely event you have an allergic reaction to this pill, seek healthcare attention immediately. Symptoms about an allergic reaction include: rash, itching, swelling, fever, trouble breathing. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact some your pharmacist or pharmacist.
Neggram Precautions: Tell your doctor if you have: kidney problems, liver disease, seizure disorder, nervous system disorder, blood vessel disease, any allergies. Use caution driving or performing tasks requiring alertness if this med makes you drowsy, dizzy, or lightheaded. Limit alcohol intake. Because this drug may make you more sensitive to sun, avoid prolonged sun exposure. Wear protective clothing & use sunscreen when outdoors. Tell your physician if you are pregnant before using this medication. this med is excreted into breast milk. Consult your doctor before breast-feeding.
Neggram drug interactions: Tell your physician about all the medications you may use, both prescription and nonprescription, especially of: warfarin, certain live vaccines, nitrofurantoin, quinapril, didanosine, vitamins/minerals (e.g., magnesium, aluminum, calcium, iron, zinc), antacids, sucralfate, bismuth subsalicylate. do not start or stop any medicine without physician or physician approval.
Neggram Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact you're local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms about overdose may include seizures, vomiting, nausea, & unusual sluggishness.
Neggram special notes: this medication has been prescribed for your current condition only. do not use it later for another infection or give it to someone else. a different drug may be needed in those cases. Diabetics should use Clinistix instead of Clinitest to test urine for sugar. Nalidixic acid can cause Clinitest to show false results.
If you missed Neggram dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if It's almost time for next dose, instead, skip missed dose & resume youre usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.
Neggram Storage: Store at room temperature away from sunlight & moisture. If youre doctor tells you to stop taking nalidixic acid, throw away any unused med. Nalidixic acid loses effectiveness over time & shouldn't be saved to treat another infection.
