    Difenoxin w/atropine sulfate - oral

    (dye-fen-ox-in with at-trow-peen)

    common brand names: Motofen

    Motofen Usage: this med is used to relieve diarrhea.

    How to use Motofen: Take this tablet as prescribed. do not increase your dose or take it more much of times than prescribed. If diarrhea is not relieved in several days, notify your doctor.

    Motofen side effects: Dizziness, drowsiness, dry mouth, or nausea may occur as your body adjusts to the pill. Inform your pharmacist if you experience any of these effects while taking this medication: abdominal pain, skin rash. If you notice other effects not listed above, contact youre doctor or physician.

    Motofen Precautions: Alcoholic beverages may increase drowsiness caused by atropine & difenoxin. Atropine & difenoxin can affect certain medical conditions. Tell youre healthcare professional if you have: alcoholism, chronic lung disease, colitis, liver disease (including cirrhosis & jaundice). Before surgery, including dental surgery, tell healthcare professional that you are taking it drug. Difenoxin can be habit-forming. Stopping medication suddenly after taking high doses or after taking it over long time can cause withdrawal. Symptoms of withdrawal include: muscle and stomach cramps, unusual sweating, nausea and vomiting, shaking or trembling. women who pregnant or breast-feeding should inform theyre doctors. Difenoxin may pass from mother to her baby through the milk and atropine is excreted in breast milk. don't allow anyone else to take it medication.

    Motofen medication interactions: Before taking atropine & difenoxin, tell your doctor of any over-the-counter or prescription drugs you take especially: MAO inhibitors (e.g., furazolidone, linezolid, phenelzine, selegiline, tranylcypromine), narcotic cough or pain relievers, sleeping tablets, tranquilizers, muscle relaxants. do not start or stop any medicine with out pharmacist or physician approval.

    Motofen Overdose: If overdose is suspected, contact your local poison control center or emergency room immediately. Symptoms of overdose may include initially rapid heartbeat, followed by sluggishness, coma, pinpoint pupils, & slowed breathing.

    Motofen special notes: do not share it product with others.

    If you missed Motofen dose: If you miss dose, take as soon as remembered; do not take if this is almost clock for following dose, instead, skip the missed dose & resume your usual dosing schedule. do not 'double-up' the dose to catch up.

    Motofen Storage: Store at room temperature between 59 and 86 degrees F (between 15 & 30 degrees C) away from moisture & sunlight. don't store in the bathroom.
